Creamy Italian White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2005
This was really good! The lemon juice added a nice tang and brightened it up. I followed the suggestion to use a submersion blender, don't think I'll do that next time because it didn't get it as smooth as I would have like without breaking all the beans up. I also used some frozen chopped spinach and this worked well. I will definately make this again!

Sweet and Sour Green Beans

MMMMM! I used frozen green beans instead of canned. If you like that sweet and sour flavor you will love these.

Tart and Bubbly Wedding Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
I was looking for a punch that wasn't to sweet. This recipe was perfect! Everyone loved it. I just hate sicky sweet punch with cake, this was nice and refreshing. I couldn't find cranberry ginger ale so I just used regular ginger ale.

This was very good and so quick and easy to make. I'm looking forward to trying some variation to the meat and vegetable additions.

Bourbon Pecan Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2005
This was very good. I was supprised how moist and juicy the chicken turned out. I just browned it in the pan and finished it out in the oven. Then made my sauce in the pan. I thought the sauce was a little to overpowering. Next time I will use half the mustard, half the soy sauce and increase the bourbon.

Gooey Butter Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
This is an awesome recipe that is more like cookie bars than cake. I got this recipe from my grandma with the following changes, make it this way and it will be 'to die for'. Line your pan with foil. Make the crust as directed. Add another stick of butter and 2 cups of chopped pecans to the filling, skip the vanilla extract, use about 3 cups powdered sugar. Cook for 45 min to 1 hour, just until browned, and let cool, wrap in the foil and refrigerate overnight. Next day slice into bars and enjoy.

Croutons

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
These are a great way to use up leftover bread! I saved the heels of the bread in the freezer until I had enough, supprisingly they added up pretty fast. Then I took them out and defrosted them in the toaster and followed the recipe.

Very easy to make! I melted chocolate chips over half, I think I liked the plain ones better.

Pizza Sauce I

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
MMMMMMM! This is so good I could eat it out of the bowl. I used fresh tomatoes and basil from my garden. I didn't add any sugar because my tomatoes were very sweet. I also didn't add any cinnamon because I thought it sounded a little wierd for pizza sauce.

Garlic Pork Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2007
MMMMM! That's all my kids said when they were eating this. The pork turned out so good. I followed some of the suggestions and seasoned the pork with some of my favorite mixed seasoning and seared it before putting it in the slow cooker. I think the pork deserved 5 star but the sweet potatoes only 4 star. Next time I will try something different with the sweet potatoes, maybe wraping them in foil to cook along side the pork or use red potaoes instead.

Sesame Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2005
This dish was excellent! I added some broccoli and used brown sugar instead of white. The sesame oil really adds to the flavor! I added it to the marinade and drizzled a little over the dish when it was done cooking. I only marinated 30 min and this was plenty. I will make this again!

Short Cut Mexican Fideo (Vermicelli)

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
I made this to go with my mexican meal when I discovered I was out of rice. It was pretty good, everyone ate it up! I think this is a good alternative to rice. I used angel hair pasta broken into small pieces. I also added some garlic powder, cumin and a little oregano.

15-Minute Dinner Nachos Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
This is not a gourmet dinner but I think it does deserve 5 stars because it's cheap, super easy and it tastes very good. The whole family ate it until there was nothing left.

Potato Chips

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
This recipe is unbelievable! The chips taste just like out of the bag. I just sprayed a little pam on some parchement paper and layed out the potato slices and sprayed a little more pam on top. I sliced the potatoes very thin with a vegetable peeler. It took exactly 3 min. in my microwave and we ate them all just as fast as they came out. This recipe isn't very practicle if you want to make a lot of chips because it takes so long. But for someone who is on a diet and needs that salty chip fix, this is perfect.

Au Gratin Taco Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
I would give 4 stars for the taste, it did taste pretty good. But considering how my daughter cried and said it looked like throw-up on a plate, I have to give it 3 stars.

Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
I would say this recipe deserves 4 stars only after changes have been made. I added extra ham, cheese, used heavy cream instead of water and added a few other spices(cayenne, garlic powder). I cooked for 5 hours on high in my crock pot and the potatoes were not even close to being done and they were watery. I put them in a casserole dish minus the liquid and put some extra cheese on the top and finished them in the oven. It was pretty tasty after finishing in the oven, but very salty, so I would recommend not adding any extra salt. I may try this again in the oven but I would not ever make it again in the crock pot.

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
These turned out so pretty and so tasty. I've had them before but this is the first time I've made it myself and I was suprised at how quick and easy this was to put together. I chopped my veggies the night before to save some time and set out the cream cheese while the crust was baking and cooling so it was soft when I mixed it up.
