Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
I would say this recipe deserves 4 stars only after changes have been made. I added extra ham, cheese, used heavy cream instead of water and added a few other spices(cayenne, garlic powder). I cooked for 5 hours on high in my crock pot and the potatoes were not even close to being done and they were watery. I put them in a casserole dish minus the liquid and put some extra cheese on the top and finished them in the oven. It was pretty tasty after finishing in the oven, but very salty, so I would recommend not adding any extra salt. I may try this again in the oven but I would not ever make it again in the crock pot.

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
These turned out so pretty and so tasty. I've had them before but this is the first time I've made it myself and I was suprised at how quick and easy this was to put together. I chopped my veggies the night before to save some time and set out the cream cheese while the crust was baking and cooling so it was soft when I mixed it up.

Tart and Bubbly Wedding Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
I was looking for a punch that wasn't to sweet. This recipe was perfect! Everyone loved it. I just hate sicky sweet punch with cake, this was nice and refreshing. I couldn't find cranberry ginger ale so I just used regular ginger ale.

Ranch Crispy Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2007
This is the perfect 'kid' recipe. It's not gourmet but it's fast, easy and my kids ate it all up. I sauteed it in a pan instead of baking and served it over rice.

Real Sopapillas

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
I only make half the recipe and that made a lot. I rolled them super thin and had no trouble getting them to puff up. Everyone was standing around in the kitchen eating them and eating them... They are so good and easy to make! I sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on them when they came out of the fryer.

MMMMMMM! This recipe is a keeper. The muffin part is not too sweet and the crumb topping gets nice and crunchy.

Very easy to make! I melted chocolate chips over half, I think I liked the plain ones better.

These were pretty good and went together quickly. But I don't think they are 5 star good.

Pepperoncini Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2007
I have made this recipe many many times but never rated it. It is so easy and everyone I serve it to asks me for the recipe. Last time I made it I added 2 beef bullion cubes and served the juice along side to dip the sandwiches in. Soooo good!!

Garlic Pork Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2007
MMMMM! That's all my kids said when they were eating this. The pork turned out so good. I followed some of the suggestions and seasoned the pork with some of my favorite mixed seasoning and seared it before putting it in the slow cooker. I think the pork deserved 5 star but the sweet potatoes only 4 star. Next time I will try something different with the sweet potatoes, maybe wraping them in foil to cook along side the pork or use red potaoes instead.

Baked Ziti I

This is a great base recipe. I usually half it otherwise you end up with enough to feed an army. I also mix up all the sauce with the pasta then top with the cheese. So good!

Modenese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2007
The whole family loved them! I used half the butter and a little olive oil. I also used chicken broth instead of wine because that is what I had. They were really good served over rice to soak up the sauce.

Tiramisu Toffee Dessert

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2007
This was good but a little too sweet. If I make it again I will try just 3/4 cup sugar. I did use a 2 pound loaf of pound cake cut thin and in two layers. There was plenty of filling for this amount of cake and I didn't double the coffee but next time I will because the cake was a little dry. It tasted much better the next day, so make it a day ahead if you can!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
Yummy! That's all my kids said as they were eating and they are very picky. I used half butter and half olive oil to saute these and I think I could have used less than what the recipe stated. I also used fat free half-and-half and milk to make the cream sauce and it turned out very good.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

I followed the other viewer suggestions and added the whole brick of cream cheese and only half the jar of alfredo sauce. I think next time I would go ahead and add the whole jar because it was a little thick but still very good.

Scrumptious Salisbury Steak in Mushroom Gravy

My husband is a meat and potatoes guy so he likes this pretty good. I used fresh mushrooms instead of canned, and sauteed a whole chopped onion with the mushrooms instead of adding it to the beef.

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
This is so easy, I can't believe how fresh it tastes and it all came from cans. I did add a little extra broth and some cumin and garlic powder. Be sure to drain and rinse the beans before you add them. I served it with some fresh cilantro and sour cream.
