Oaty Cereal Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
These were so easy make. I've already made them a couple of times. I added almonds and dried cranberries instead of the peanuts. They are pretty sweet so I think you could get away with using less sugar. The second time I made them I added marshmallows and chocolate chips and they kind of melted into a big mess but it still tasted pretty good. This is a great recipe to save some money and get away from so much packaged and processed food.

Potato Chips

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
This recipe is unbelievable! The chips taste just like out of the bag. I just sprayed a little pam on some parchement paper and layed out the potato slices and sprayed a little more pam on top. I sliced the potatoes very thin with a vegetable peeler. It took exactly 3 min. in my microwave and we ate them all just as fast as they came out. This recipe isn't very practicle if you want to make a lot of chips because it takes so long. But for someone who is on a diet and needs that salty chip fix, this is perfect.

This was soooo good! I only used one can of black beans, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. No changes needed, I could eat this every day!

These were great. I made them without a bread machine using the other reviewers suggestions and they turned out very good.

This has everything a 5 star recipe should. It's fast, easy and delicious! I did follow the reviewer suggestions to add the egg after thickening the soup. Next time I make it I will use less egg.

Fast and Delicious Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
Tasted great with homemade cornbread and was even better the next day! I didn't bother putting the beans in the food processor. I just used my submersion blender until I got the consistency I wanted. I also added a little cayenne pepper to spice it up.

Spaghetti Pie II

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
This was the first time I've made spagetti pie, it was pretty good and the family liked it. I made it with a few adjustments to make it easier. I use a jar of spagetti sauce, omited the green pepper (because family doesn't like), and used ricotta instead of cottage cheese. The top of the 'pie' was very flavorful while the bottom (crust and cheese) was a little bland. Next time I will try addings some seasoning to the crust and cheese, maybe salt and pepper to the crust and some italian seasoning to the cheese layer.

I have made this many times but I don't consider it soup. It's great to put in a crock pot and serve as a dip.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
I was pleasantly supprised how good this turned out. I made this minus a few ingredients so my picky family would have a better chance of liking it. I made it minus the celery, green pepper, shrimp and cayanne pepper and it still turned out very flavorful but not spicy. I added the chicken breast frozen and pulled them out about 30 min before it was done and shredded them up. I also added some rice about 30min before it was done and the rice absorbed all the flavorful juice. The only problem was after I turned off the crock pot when it was perfect the rice kept cooking because of the residual heat. Next time I think I will turn it off just before the rice is done. I will definatly make this again!

Au Gratin Taco Bake

I would give 4 stars for the taste, it did taste pretty good. But considering how my daughter cried and said it looked like throw-up on a plate, I have to give it 3 stars.

Gooey Butter Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
This is an awesome recipe that is more like cookie bars than cake. I got this recipe from my grandma with the following changes, make it this way and it will be 'to die for'. Line your pan with foil. Make the crust as directed. Add another stick of butter and 2 cups of chopped pecans to the filling, skip the vanilla extract, use about 3 cups powdered sugar. Cook for 45 min to 1 hour, just until browned, and let cool, wrap in the foil and refrigerate overnight. Next day slice into bars and enjoy.

Croutons

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
These are a great way to use up leftover bread! I saved the heels of the bread in the freezer until I had enough, supprisingly they added up pretty fast. Then I took them out and defrosted them in the toaster and followed the recipe.

Yum! You need a really big bowl for this recipe because it makes a lot. You can add anything to it. I added a couple tbsp peanut butter to the melted coating and some rese's pieces.

Microwave Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
This is dangerous because it is so easy and so good! I just used 2 bags of light microwave popcorn. Also the suggestion of microwaving the caramel for 1 1/2 and 1 1/2 min. is a good one. I think it depends on how powerful your microwave is and nowdays they cook pretty fast. This is a very old recipe because I remember making it in high school home-ec class and that was a long time ago!

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2007
MMMmmm! This is the perfect pumpkin pie. I tried this recipe because I had opened the can of pumpkin and then realized I didn't have evaporated milk like my usual recipe called for. So I scrambled and found this recipe and am so glad that I did. This will be the recipe I use from now on.
