Georgia Peach Homemade Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2014
I have been dying to make homemade peach ice cream for years! So glad I went with this recipe. Absolutely delicious. I did purée most of the peaches and left a few small chunks. Wish I puréed all. Didn't like the texture of the chunks. First taste out of the maker...I was worries it wasn't sweet enough. But after freezing it for hours....it was perfection.

Dirt Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2013
Made this several times. 4 stars only because 1 cup conf sugar is waaaay to much. 1/2 would be much better. Only change I made was I used fresh whipped cream opposed to cool whip ( 1 1/2 heavy cream, 1/4 conf sugar and squirt vanilla whipped for 4 minutes). And a bit more milk then called for. Pudding was too thick for my preference. Otherwise fun and awesome recipe.

Blackberry Barbecued Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
This was soo yummy. A different twist that the whole family enjoyed. I mix up the ingredients and marinated my tenderloin in that for a few hours..then I grilled and basted with additional sauce I made and it stuck to the meat so nicely. What a great flavor. Without marinating and basting often..I'm afraid the delicious flavor wouldnt be as prominent. Will make again for sure!

Hasselback Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
**5 stars for the idea and concept. I would never had thought to do this with potatoes. They were a nice twist on a potatoe side dish. I did sprinkle the tops with some of my fav spices(paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper)for added flavor. I even prob used more butter than specified. Will make again and next time will sprinkle cheddar cheese on top for the last 10min of baking instead of romano. My kids love cheese potatoes and this would work great with this recipe.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
I think these were the best pancakes that I have ever had! YUM! The only change was to add 1/4 cup of white sugar opposed to 3 tbsp. I din't get my ingredients to room temp like some suggested..and my pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Will make again and again and again.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
These cookies deserve 10****stars! They are that good. I have made plenty of sugar cookies and these are by far my new favorite. I did dip my balls in colored sugar for better presentation and let me tell you..I ate 10 in a row! I cannot wait to dip some in cinnamon/sugar for a snickerdoodle. Great drop cookie. Will use over and over and over again. Oh I did only use 1 cup sugar since I was dipping in sugar. Didn't want them too sweet.

Coconut Walnut Biscotti

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
****5 star biscotti recipe. Great tea or coffee biscuit as well. YUMMY! Only change was to add one cup of coconut and I lessened the flour as another reviewer suggested to 3 cups. I did add in extra coconut extract for I like a strong coconut flavor to my cookies. Oh and I only had almonds so I used them instead of walnuts. I dipped half of the batch in milk choc and kept half plain. Both were more than 5 stars. MMMMMM! Will be using these in my Xmas cookie tins.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Five stars for sure. These are so delicious and a great base recipe for different add ins. I just dropped mine onto cookie sheet with my cookie scoop without making a ball or flattening. They were perfect. Not sure how some submitters got flat cookies-maybe ck your baking soda that its not old. Store it in a cool spot. It will lose it power. I cooked 8 minutes for a softer cookie and ten minutes for a crispier cookie. Perfection. Added 1 cup walnuts and 1 cup raisins-YUMMY! Will add choc chips in very very soon ;)

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
So I usually try and make my first batch and follow the recipe before taking reviews into consideration..I wish I didnt do that. These muffins def needed more sugar in my opinion. Almost too bland like a scone. Will make again adding in extra sugar and I think they will be 5 stars then. I also add the baking soda right into the sour cream to take away the heaviness of it.

Blueberry Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
This was a great recipe. Only change for me was to add about a cup of sour cream(which I mixed the baking soda into) just because I like my breads super moist. My cooking time was also longer than 35 minutes..more like 45-50 minutes for two loaves. Oh and in one loaf I added walnuts for grandma who loves nuts. YUM!

Peanut Butter Popcorn

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
Great recipe for the kids to create. I liked the marshmallow addition in this recipe. I give this four stars only because I found I had to make some extra sauce to give all the popcorn a good coat. I added in a little extra peanut butter to ensure a great peanut butter taste-and some roasted peanuts. I transfered to a 13x9 baking tin and baked at 350 for 10 minutes to harden up a bit. I stuck the bowl in hot soapy water for 10 minutes for easy clean-up. Will make again- a great addition to family movie night.

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
This was great. I let it marinate all day and the tenderloin came out so nice and tender. I like a little bit extra of a zip so I added about 1 teaspoon of the chili powder. Will make again for sure.

Coconut Cream Dessert

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
5 stars as written and 10 with a few upgrades. For the crust I did 1 and 1/2 the desired amount-since i like a thicker crust. Instead of whipped topping I made my own(2cups heavy cream, 3/4 cup conf sugar with a squirt of vanilla.beat for 5 minutes until stiff peaks) added this to cream cheese..YUM. and instead of adding all milk to the pudding mix I did half milk and half heavy cream for a richer flavor..UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS! I then made another whipped cream recipe and topped with that. OH ME OH MY! Everyone wanted this recipe. Gone in seconds. Please make ASAP. The pudding mix was hard to find but it's out there.

Asparagus Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
This was four stars as is and five with a few add-ins. Absolutely delicious. I used Feta cheese instead of blue-thats what I had on hand and I added in some fresh parsley with the basil. It def needs more salt than specified and I added a few dashes of paprika for some mild heat and a sprinkle of sugar. Cannot wait to make for some company.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
These were so awesome. I didn't change a thing except added more than a pinch of salt. Once I poured the sauce over the potatoes I mixed to make sure they were nice and coated. And then did the same twice during baking. My baking time was 45 minutes. PERFECTO! Will be making this plenty in the future.

Roast Beef Horseradish Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Yum! I made a bunch of different roll-ups for a lunch party and these were my favorite. I used a Boars Head prepared horseradish sauce and instead of shredded cheddar I just used yellow american. Didn't have four hours to let them sit..more like 1 1/2 and they were just fine to cut. Will make again. Thanks for the share.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Wow..What a great appie. The only change was to sautee the brocolli, pepper, and onion in oil for ten minutes prior to mixing with the other ingredients. Simple easy and delicious. People not only raved..but they thought I had bought it and just heated it up. Now thats the best compliment you can get!

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
OK-so I cheated as well and used frozen cooked meatballs from Costco..that being said 5 stars for the easiness and the delicious sauce. Will keep this recipe for future parties or potlucks. I cooked on low for 4 hrs or so and they were perfect. Tossed on some toasted hoagies and sprinkled mozz cheese on top...MMMMMMM! Doesn't get better than that. Even the kiddies enjoyed and asked to have again the next night.

Cream Puff Shells

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
Four stars just because I didn't like the shortening. 5+++ stars using butter. PERFECTO! I fill these mixing a box of instant vanilla pudding(not store brand-the good brand)with a milk and heavy cream mixture that is recommended on the box(on the box recommends milk but use half heavy cream as well-so much more delicious) What a perfect cream puff. I also drizzle choc on top of them. People do think I buy them at a bakery.

Roast Pork with Maple and Mustard Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
What a sweet and delicious glaze. I did use the real maple syrup and the glaze was very runny so I just poured it all over the roast turning in the roast pan to coat extra good. I did stuff some fresh garlic in various slits in my roast and that just added a great flavor. I cooked my 4 1/2lb roast for 30min on 400(to brown nice) and lowered temp to 350 and cooked another 1-1 1/2 turning roast midway through. I took the roast out of the pan and just put the pan right on the stovetop on medhigh and cooked the drippings mixing in a water/flour mixture until thickened. YUMMY! Served with mashed potatoes and it was a hit. Def a sweet gravy so beware before pouring all over your plate. Will make again and again.
