Wedding Cake Icing

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
I had been looking for the perfect "wedding cake" icing, and this is it! I've made 3 practice cakes using this icing and they've gone over well! I used water from the water cooler instead of tap water, and the first mixing only took 5 minutes. The second time I made this icing, I added 2 Tablespoons cocoa powder to half the batch for a chocolate cake, and it was great. My family has requested to not have a "Bought" cake anymore! Thank YOU for this recipe!

Just as good as store bought packs. Will be making this by the jar full.

Broccoli Chicken Roli

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
Was very good, but I couldn't get it shaped right. I ended up filling individual crescent rolls with the mixture. I did not use green pepper. The kids loved it.

Chicken and Sliders

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
This was a hit with my family. It tasted like the perfect "chicken and dumplin'" recipe I'd been looking for. I did not have bay leaves, so I used seasoned salt, pepper, and sage.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
This was my first time ever making a real cheesecake. It turned out beautiful and tasted better than store bought. I followed the recipe exactly. No changes. It was also very tall (2") and would have made a very stunning 10" cheesecake instead of 9". I will make this again and add chocolate chips.

Gnocchi I

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
My husband does not like pasta, so I gave this a whirl. He loved it. I served it tossed with a tomato vodka sauce and meatballs. These were not as difficult to make as I thought they would be. I'll make them again.

Baked Tortilla Chips

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
I used cooking spray, lemon pepper and some salt free seasoning. They were served with guacamole, salsa, and cheese dip. I liked them.

Bacon Mushroom Swiss Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
Worked like a charm on my meatloaf protestors. I followed the directions for the meatloaf, but topped it with sliced bacon, sliced portabella mushrooms, and a mixture of mustard and kechup with cracked pepper and chives. Then topped that off with sliced swiss. It was so good. I doubled the recipe and made and extra meatloaf for the freezer.

Hot Chili Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
The crock pot was full, so I baked this for 30 minutes at 375. Like a dunce, I forgot the black olives. It was still a hit with the crowd.

Luscious Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
Very good. I only changed one thing. I steamed 2 artichokes, scraped the flesh from petals and chopped the hearts instead of using canned artichokes. We really enjoyed this and will make again.

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
Everyone loved them. The only things I did differently was to bake them for 25 minutes instead of 30-35 minutes, and I added mini semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Unbelievable Fish Batter

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
I think the 1/4 cup baking powder was a typo. I used self rising, and omitted the powder. To the recipe, I added an egg, and creole seasoning. We used it for perch, and it was excellent.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
Excellent. My husband would only eat salmon in salmon patties prior to trying this recipe. I flaked the left overs and served them on a salad for lunch the next day with a sun dried tomato vinegarette.

Sausage and Rice Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
Used ground beef instead of sausage. Used brown rice instead of white rice. Added creole seasoning, and cut them in half rather than topped them. Froze the leftovers. Loved it, will make again. It's about 3 months later and I took a couple of the peppers out of the freezer. They were even better than when I first cooked them.

Used this mixed with sour cream for topping tater skins. Very good. Did add dill weed as other reviewers suggested. Thanks.

Pot Stickers Traditional

Very very good. Normally I do not use cabbage in the dumplings, but was pleasantly suprised. Everyone loved them. I browned the bottoms on the griddle and then transferred them to a steam basket.
