Sweet Chili Thai Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
This was so good. As good as the "prepared" type at the grocer. I halved this recipe and used prepared ginger and chili paste. It was excellent with the turkey and shrimp egg rolls, fried pork won tons, and crab Rangoon.

Gyoza Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
This was so good. Better than the resturaunt. I halved the recipe. I used regular soy sauce, but 4 cloves of garlic, and 1 teaspoon of ground ginger from the jar. In leiu of the sesame oil and crused red peppers, I used chili paste. It was a great dipping sauce for the pork and shrimp Gyoza, fried won tons, and crab rangoon.

Crab Rangoon III

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
I left out the water chestnuts, and added onion powder and parsley flakes. Even though the first couple "test" ones leaked out in the fryer, the rest were pretty darned good. I followed other reviewer's advice, to squeeze all the water out of the crab. I wrapped it in several paper towels and squeezed until no more drips. After the test ones leaked, I added a Tablespoon of cornstarch to the rest of the filling, ahhhh... success. My husband and daughter said they were better than {insert the take out place I usually get them from}. I served them with turkey and shrimp eggrolls, pork wontons, pork and shrimp Gyoza, fried rice, and stir fried bok choy and carrots. For dipping sauces, I made Gyoza Sauce and Sweet Chili Thai Sauce also from this website.

Very good. Pleasanlty different from the frostings I usually make. Used to ice a marble layer cake for Easter.

I really enjoyed these, as did the kids. I used shredded cabbage and carrots in place of the cucumbers.

Cheeseburger and Fries Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
Thumbs up! The kids loved it! I cooked the fries first like other comments, until they were crispy. I took it a step further and put a layer of fries on the bottom, and on the top. It's a keeper. Thanks!

Southern Fried Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
This was so good, even the kids enjoyed it. I did make a couple changes for times sake. I used a bag of pre-shredded cole slaw instead of shredding the cabbage. I also used dehydrated chopped onions, 1 T, instead of the onion.

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Very good. We froze some of the cookie dough to use later. The cookies from the frozen dough were just as good!

Zeke's Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
I had a busy day, so I cooked the chicken in the crock pot with chicken broth. When I got home, I shredded the chicken, and went ahead and finished the soup in the crockpot. This soup is sooooo good, it was worth the extra calories to fry the tortilla strips! I served it with shredded cheddar and a dollop of sour cream.

Surprisingly simple and delicious! I served it over wild and long grain rice. With stir fried broccoli flowerets.

Chicken Enchilada Casserole I

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
The whole family enjoyed this one. Rather than use cooked and diced chicken, I cooked raw chicken breasts in the broth, and shredded it. I used shredded cheddar jack instead of processed cheese. We had the left overs the next day for lunch, it was good re-heated.

Torsk

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
I really wanted this to taste like lobster, like most of the comments said, but it did not. It was, however, good buttered cod. The sugar water poach did give the fish a "different" taste than what I am used to, but it was pleasant, not too sweet, but not like lobster. If you like fish, give this recipe a try, but if you are looking for a lobster taste, stick with the real thing. :)

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
Very good on a very cold snowy day! I didn't have half and half, so used evaporated milk instead. I mixed in 1 cup of sour cream right before serving. The whole family enjoyed it.

Jezebel Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2008
We use this as a dipping sauce for Mahi Mahi, chicken strips, and mozzarella sticks. It is also good as a glaze on ham or pork loin. I've never added the black pepper though, the taste without it is too good to mess with!

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
These were really good. I was out of dill weed, celery salt, seasoned bread crumbs, and onions. I substituted 1 T Mrs. Dash, 1 T onion powder, 1 T lemon pepper, 1 T Old Bay seasoning, 3 T lemon juice, and 3 T Worcestershire sauce. The texture was great, I fried them in oil, but I think they would have been just as good baked. I served them with mustard and horseradish.

Corn Dog Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
In taking the advice of other reviewers, I cut the hot dogs in bite sized pieces. I halved the recipe, only used 2 hot dogs, and used 1 cup of Colby jack cheese instead of cheddar. It still made 12 muffins. My husband and 7 year old do not like cornbread muffins. To help disguise the cornbread, I plated 2 of them, and poured hot dog chili over them. (1 can Vietti hot dog chili, 2 T ketchup, and 1 t mustard, cook on med heat until hot) My husband said "You know I don't like cornbread", but he ate both of his and said they were different, but really good. My 7 year old asked if we could have them for dinner one night this week. I tasted them with and without the chili, and liked them.

Cabbage Rolls I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
Excellent recipe. I almost didn't use the cinnamon, but am glad I did. There were only smallish heads of cabbage at the grocer, so I ended up using 3 heads, and made 48 rolls. I sent some home with my in-laws, and froze some. They were even good re-heated.

The best ever stroganoff recipe. Thank you. I used flat iron steak instead of the roast. There were no left overs!
