About this Cook
A lot has changed in the few years I've been a member here, I'm still a mom to 3, only now they are 8, 17, and 19. I've also become a grandmother to a beautiful baby girl.
My favorite things to cook
The grill, griddle, and wok are favorites of mine. They make playing with food lots of fun. Sandwiches are fun. I keep a couple of bricks by the grill for flame grilled paninis, ummm good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother prepares Thanksgiving dinner every year. She doesn't let anyone help, that runs in the family!
My cooking tragedies
Gas stove in a cabin at Hiwassee, aluminum pans... Need I say more?

Radishes Simmered with Thyme
I had a nearly full pound of radishes that needed to be used. Salad making wasn't using them fast enough and the kids wouldn't eat them anyways. Stumbled on this recipe because a photo on the home page photo contest. They turned out pretty good. Reminded me of turnips. The kids still wouldn't eat them, not even a taste, but I will still make them again when I've got a surplus of radishes. I baked them covered in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes.

Cheese and Bacon Potato Rounds
A hit in our house. Served with sour cream mixed with salsa verde for a little kick.

Korean Cucumber Salad
Pretty good, but the kids couldn't handle the heat. I had to substitute red onions for green onions, only because my green onions had wilted. I will make it again with green onion.
