Mitch & Me
About this Cook
I grew up in Arkansas and now live in Memphis, Tennessee with my husband, baby girl, and our two miniture Dachshunds.
My favorite things to cook
I love soups! I can eat soup when it's hot or cold. I also love to bake. Christmas is my favorite time of the year for cooking. I make lots of cookies and candies for friends and relatives, and celebrate the holiday with my "25 Cookies of Christmas"! My husband loves for me to make Swiss Cheese Meatloaf and Grilled BBQ Pork Chops.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking for friends and family. At Thanksgiving & Christmas, we have dinner with turkey, ham, cornbread dressing and the works!
My cooking triumphs
The first time I ever hosted Thanksgiving, I invited everyone from both mine and my husband's families. I cooked dinner, alone, for 18 people. It was fantastic! I couldn't believe it! :)
My cooking tragedies
When I got married, I barely new how to boil water. My husband asked me to make a meatloaf. I had no clue what to do and did not even own a cookbook! So, I threw together a few ingredients that I thought would go in a meatloaf and put it in the oven at 400° for over two hours. It was tough, burned and just plain awful! Needless to say, my husband didn't ask for that ever again. :)

Tortellini Soup
This was super-easy, but needs salt for a boost of flavor. The cheese is also a must.

Chicken Tortilla Soup I
Yum!! This recipe was a hit! I did add a bit of salt as it was a little bland. One I did, it tasted wonderful!
