Cherry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2012
My grandmother had a cook book from the 1970's with this exact same recipe. My husbands loves it and asks for it every birthday. Having made it numerous times, I've learned a few tips to helping it set. 1) You have to use all the amount of lemon juice called for or it won't taste right. 2) You must chill for 5 hours at least, preferably overnight. 3) Don't make it on a sweltering hot 90 degree weather day with no end in sight or it will not set. (Don't ask, lol) 4) If you make your own baked graham cracker or vanilla wafer crust, wait till it has cooled completely to put in filling. As a extra measure I also put the crusts in the freezer for 10 minutes or so. 5) Serve the cherry pie filling on the side. 6) I sometimes use extra cream cheese, but it has set just fine with and without it.

Jimmy's Mexican Pizza

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
We have Mexican night once a week and I was looking for new recipes. This recipe fit the bill perfectly. The combination of seasonings made the meat so flavorful! I will definitely be using this combination instead of pre packaged seasoning from now on. The only thing that I had an issue with on this recipe is keeping the layers together when trying to eat it! Next time I am going to try a thin layer of cheese with the bean/meat to see if this will help.

Corn Cheese Chowder

mmmm...good. This recipe is wonderfully rich and creamy. However, if you aren't a big fan of corn, this recipe isn't for you.

Black Bean Vegetable Soup

My husband and I thought this recipe was just okay. The kids didn't like it at all. It was just a little to spicy for my bunch.

Corn Fritters

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2006
I don't know what went wrong with this recipe! It was still doughy and not sweet enough. I ended up sticking with my mother's recipe which I should of done in the first place.

This recipe is so good!!! The only thing I changed was to omit the mustard. My husband had the stomach flu for a couple days and the first thing he wanted when he started feeling better was these!!

My pickest eater loved it and asked me to make it again sometime. The only thing I did different was to use six whole green bell peppers cored. Yum!

Apple Delight

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2006
What a delight! This was a very easy recipe. I did however change a few things. First to my apple pie filling I added cinnamon and brown sugar. Second mixed up the cake mix according to the box and then poured it on top. Third I nixed the butter because I already used butter in the mix. Lastly I had to cook it an extra 5 minutes.

Tender Italian Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2006
I tried this recipe last night. It was really easy to make. I applied the mayo with my hands and rolled the chicken in the crumbs. The chicken came out really moist. I felt it did need a bit more spices so next time I am going to add garlic and onion powder.

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2005
This is a really easy recipe. I don't know if it was the salt and pepper I added or the green chile peppers but it was too spicy for the kids(8 and 3).

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2005
I was really exicted to make this recipe (I love hot wings) but when I tried it I was disappointed. It think it would have tasted better with ranch or maybe ranch and blue cheese mix.

This recipe was so good! My kids even loved it, which is rare. We used sour cream, cheddar cheese, bacon, and green onions as toppings.

B.L.A.T. Wraps

This is a great new twist on B.L.T.'s. I mashed up the advocodos, mixed it with mayo and then spread it on the tortillas.
