Cod with Italian Crumb Topping

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
I really enjoyed the flavors in this recipe. I did do as others suggested and omitted the egg white for mayo and lemon. Will make again!

So Yummy! Don't pass this one up! The flavor is great. I used 1 bag of milk chocolate chips instead of the semi-sweet squares. Great recipe!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

I am not a fan of Oatmeal Raisin but these made me a believer. Very yummy as written, well almost. I added a cup of raisins. Delicious! I guess I also changed the process too...I did not refrigerate them. Just scooped them out and baked them as the recipe said. Really tasty!!

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
Fantastic!! I used a Kitchenaid mixer and followed the advice of adding the salt later in the recipe and put 1/4 cup of water in the oven as it baked. Loved the chewy crust. I think one of the suggestions says to bake immediately and eliminate the 2nd rising process (perhaps I misunderstood). I did this and although the bread was truly wonderful, you could see each layer of rolled dough in the finished process. I did not like that so I will let it rise a second time to see if that fixes that problem. It's been dubbed 'my best bread ever'.

So yummy! I love the crumb topping but I think I would prefer to have double the crumbs. So good. Great on Banana Bread too!

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Excellent!! I love that it makes 3 loafs at once! It's fantastic! Keep one (or two) for yourself and give the other to a neighbor. Love it! I used all purpose flour and it worked perfectly!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
This is a quick and easy recipe. I stirred like crazy when it was time and did not have a problem with greasy fudge. However, I misread the directions and used 1/2 c. butter instead of 1/4 c. It had a greasy film on top but once it was set it was perfect. No grease. I omitted the nuts in this batch but made a second batch with nuts and using the right amount of butter. It set up just as well and tasted just as good. However, the blind taste testers thought the one with the extra butter was slightly better. Go figure. I recommend using a flat bottom whisk (used for beverages sometimes).

Avocado Smoothie

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
Delicious! I didn't have vanilla yogurt so I used Yoplait Light Peach. An odd combination perhaps but it was great! I also only used half an avocado because I like avocado and ate half before I got into the blender! Still loved it; so did my 3 year old.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
OH MY GOSH! Fantastic. And a crock pot meal!! I really wanted to try the recipe as is but there were so many good ideas to spice it up a bit that I couldn't refrain. However, the base of this recipe is 5 stars in my book, the added twists, a dollop of sour cream, sauteed mushroom, and an extra can of soup just put it over the top! Try it!!
