Honeyed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
We all LOVED LOVED LOVED this meal it was fantastic! Because I was feeling too lazy to chop the onion I THINLY sliced the onion and made a bed of it for the chops to lay on and poured the sauce over the top of it all.Once the chops were cooked I strained the drippings and made a sauce by making a roux with 1 T. butter and 1 T. flour then added the drippings. The onions were an added treat (if you don't mind cooked onions). So sweet and tender. Served with Japanese-Style Sesame Green Beans (also on this site), mandarin oranges and plain white rice. WOW. As another suggested, it would be great to mix some of the sauce in with the rice (rather than just piling it on top). SO SO SO Yummy.

A Plus Fair Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2006
I love this recipe. I had to make additional batter, about 2 1/2 times the original amount (we like a good coating). I also dipped the raw hot dog in flour before dipping it into the batter, which I also put in a tall cup. Great recipe.

Honey Glazed Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2006
My ENTIRE family (down to my 9 month old) loved this dish. Others mentioned that there was too much oil. I love the taste of sesame oil so I went with the full portion. It was great. HOWEVER, when using the juices to make a gravy it was evident that there was too much oil. So, as a marinade and cooking liquid, it's great as is. BUT if you are wanting to finish with a sauce I'd cut back quite a bit on the sesame. I think this would be fantastic on chicken and maybe even a beef roast... YUMMY.

Honey Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
I wasn't sure about the flavor when I tasted it before brushing it on the chicken but once grilled the flavors married quite nicely. It was wonderfully light tasting. I do think I may marinate the chicken in this sauce ahead of time just to give it a little more flavor but it is quite good as a glaze. I will make again.

No-Oven Peanut Butter Squares

So Yummy! Don't pass this one up! The flavor is great. I used 1 bag of milk chocolate chips instead of the semi-sweet squares. Great recipe!

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2007
I really love this recipe. I went with the suggestion of using butter and 3 c. of flour & roll them out with 1/2 c flour. The dough was durable and smooth. I really was not at all discouraged working with it. It held its shape through baking which for me sealed the deal. I've tried other recipes that seem to melt in the oven (very frustrating). If you are a novice this is a great recipe. Wonderful taste and texture. I love a chewy cookie!

Pork Roast with Thyme

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2006
This was my first time making a pork roast. The meat was very tender but didn't seem to have much flavor. I rarely eat pork so I am unsure what to expect. I cooked it in a crockpot for 7 hours on low and added 1/3 c. water (to tone down the vinegar). The juices smelled great but it didn't seem to really get into the meat as I had hoped. I will probably make again & try the oven.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
OH MY GOSH! Fantastic. And a crock pot meal!! I really wanted to try the recipe as is but there were so many good ideas to spice it up a bit that I couldn't refrain. However, the base of this recipe is 5 stars in my book, the added twists, a dollop of sour cream, sauteed mushroom, and an extra can of soup just put it over the top! Try it!!

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
Awesome! I baked it in a small pan and covered it for the first 15 minutes (as another suggested). I also doubled the sauce and smothered mashed potatoes with it. Wow. So yummy. Everyone loved it. It's so simple you can't go wrong!

Boston Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2006
I was not too pleased with the outcome on this one. It was my first attempt at baked beans and I think I may have failed and not the recipe. I tried it in the crockpot but I believe I loaded the pot with too many beans (I doubled the recipe) so it was still very watery after 9 hours of cooking on high. I tried to thicken it with flour and water and that didn't work. SO I think I may try it again at a later date and hopefully I can edit my rating to 4 stars or more!

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2014
i've made this a couple times now. its a nice change up from traditional potato salad. Go easy on the salt...the bacon really adds the flavor. I learned the hard way. Also, you want crispy bacon so it holds up in the dressing.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2013
I am impressed with the ease of this recipe. It truly is a quick solution when you don't want to buy a pizza. I wasn't sure if the dough needed to be cooked first so I did (brushed with garlic and olive oil) for 3 minutes prior to adding the toppings. I'm not sure if it's necessary but old habits... It didn't rise necessarily. Basically, however thick you made the dough was how it stayed throughout the cooking process. I actually like that. We made individual pizzas so some were thin and some thick with just 2-3 minutes difference on the cook time. I also added Italian seasoning and onion powder to the dough. We will use as a staple for the mere fact it is SO DANG EASY AND QUICK! My picky eaters loved it.

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

We really enjoyed this recipe...To cut down on time I used 1 can of chicken breast meat. It is great the next day as well. I will consider trying it with Spanish rice for extra flavor and perhaps more sauce...

Pollo Fajitas

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
I didn't care for the flavor. Some of my guests thought it was good but the majority ate only one fajita then went to a veggie only filled tortilla. That is rather telling being that I have a meat and potatoes kind of family. I won't try it again.
