I used a pork roast instead of beef and it was quite yummy. I didn't have canned beef broth, so I used bouillon 2 cubes instead and used 2 bottles of dark beer to make up for the loss of liquid. I cooked it approx. 9 hours, and after about 7 hours, I shredded the meat with a fork and returned it to the crock pot. I served it with rolls, mashed potatoes and macaroni-and-cheese. Yum!
