This was easy enough to make, although for some reason even though I used slightly more than 1 pound of ground beef and doubled the amount of pasta sauce, I didn't have enough meat sauce to spread on 3 layers. The other reviewers don't see to have this problem so I'm puzzled; perhaps I'll just have to chalk it up to inexperience but next time I might have to buy more meat. I also substituted ricotta cheese for cottage cheese, although next time I might try cottage as it looked much easier on a student's wallet. I didn't use any salt, just minced a few cloves of fresh garlic and used a very tasty and flavourful pasta sauce.
Edit: Now that I've had it, I found it rather bland, so next time I'll throw in herbs and such.
