Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2006
FANTASTIC!!! These pancakes were great! I made them for a house full of kids. They loved them. I doubled the recipe and at first was a little concerned about the amt. of baking powder, but no problems. The real test will be for my husband. He is very picky about his pancakes. But I'm sure these will meet and exceed his expectations.

Halushki

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2006
I made this recipe while my mom and dad were visiting, my mom usually won't eat anything new or different. She really liked this. I did add fresh garlic cloves cut up instead of the powder. It was a fantastic dish. The recipe was very easy to follow! Thanks for a great recipe.

Pan Pierogies

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2006
This was a great recipe I found while trying to find a meat free meal for Lent. I did make some adjustments. I used real mashed potatoes and didn't mix my onions into them(the kids would have had a fit). The onions I sauteed with garlic cloves in a TBS. margarine and a 1/4 c. vegetable oil. These were absolutely fantastic served on top. What a great meal!

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2006
This was the first time I have ever attempted fried rice. It came out wonderful. I did use half a can of canned peas and I boiled fresh carrots. I could not have asked for a better or easier fried rice recipe. I will definitely make this again.

Pork Chop Pileups

Reviewed: May 23, 2006
Very good and easy recipe. I substituted cr. of chicken for the cr. of mushroom. It did take almost 2 hrs. to cook. it may have taken so long because of the thickness of my chops. Overall a great recipe I will make again.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2006
I just got done making these. I used chocolate chips instead of raisins. My hubby and kids love them. For me they are okay. I'd like them to be a little crispier. They were very easy to put together and I will make these again.

Loosemeat Sandwiches III

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2006
I made this tonight for dinner. My family loved it. Not being a huge pickle fan I was a little concerned over the choice of toppings. But it was delicious as is. My kids couldn't say YUMMY enough. Very easy recipe I will make over and over again.

Chocolate Eclair Dessert

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2006
This is a great easy recipe. I made it last night and only refrigerated it for about an hour before serving. It was pretty good but the graham crackers had not softened much. I tried the leftovers today and they are awesome. I did have to use some vanilla wafers as I ran out of graham crackers. Either way this was much better the second day.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2006
I made this the other night and it was delicious. I did it as a shredded chicken sandwich. I have to say I was a little leary of using frozen chicken breasts as I have always been told to be sure your chicken is totally thawed before using, however this came out great. It was sweet but my family really enjoyed it. I used Kraft Honey Barbecue sauce. I will definitely use this recipe again. I may try the sauce over chipped ham. Great Easy Recipe! Thanks!

Chocolate Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2006
This was a fast delicious dessert. My hubby can't get enough of this very rich chocolatey concoction. I have made this twice and every one loves it. I used margarine the first time and while it came out good, it tasted much better the second time using butter. Thanks for a great easy recipe!

Cheesy Zucchini Casserole I

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2006
I tried this recipe last night. I normally don't cook with zucchini, but I had some given to me. It was an ok dish. The casserole was a little dry. My kids and hubby did not like it at all. I will not be making this again.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2006
I was asked to look up a recipe for zucchini brownies. I had never even heard of these, but after finding this recipe I had to try it. The mix was very dry which really concerned me. I had read a reviewers suggestion of using a mixer. After I tried that they were alot more moist. I did have to press them into the pan. These came out really good. You didn't even notice the zucchini in them( I chopped mine after shredding it as my hubby dislikes zucchini). Rave reviews from everyone who tried them.

Tater-Dipped Eggplant

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2006
This was o.k. It tasted more like potato than eggplant. I parmed what I had left and it was really good. I will probably stick with my regular recipe for parm though because of time.

Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
This was a great peach pie, my husband, who normally hates pie, had two pieces. That was a great compliment. I did not use the egg and I omitted the nutmeg. It had plenty of flavor with just the cinnamon. I will definitely be making this pie again.

Grandma Minnie's Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
This was a little difficult at first. I tried to roll out with sugar rather than flour like some reviewers suggested. It was not an easy task. The dough was sticky even after refridgerating it. It was much easier once I used flour on the board and mixed it into the dough. These cookies had a good flavor but watch your thickness because if you roll to 1/4 inch they tend to get very crispy around the edges.Overall a good recipe.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
I made this last night. It turned out great. I omitted the ginger and green onions because I didn't have any. I did make this once before with all the ingredients and I actually liked it better this time. This is a little time consuming but well worth the effort.

This cookie has great flavor. They were difficult to cut. The peppermint may have needed to be pulverized rather than crushed. Overall a great cookie.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2007
I used this the other night. It did have a bit of a kick. It was very good. I used about 1 1/2 lb. ground beef and 1 1/2 cups water. Delicious! I will use this again.
