Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
I love these biscuits. They come out nice and fluffly. If you like butter flavored biscuits you will really like these. Very easy to make. I always double the recipe and I drop them by tablespoons onto a baking sheet for the traditional round biscuit.

Pork Chops 'n' Pierogies

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
I made this the other night. My family were not big fans. The vinegar sauce is overpowering especially on the pierogies. It did taste pretty good on the pork chop though. Probably won't be making this again.

Kettle Corn

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
This came out good. The sugar did end up burning to the bottom. I may have left it on too long. I'll be trying this again.

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
My son made this the other night. It came out great. My only complaint is that it needs to be thicker. Does anyone have any suggestions? I think flour or cornstarch would ruin the taste. Great Syrup! We will be making again!

Johnny's Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
This was a very easy recipe to follow. I did have to make my own self-rising flour and buttermilk as I did not have these on hand. I was very skeptical about how these would turn out when I seen how wet the batter was. But they turned out perfectly. Great with sausage gravy! I will definitely be making these again.

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Reviewed: May 10, 2007
I just baked this cake. I followed the directions to a tee. I'm not thrilled with the outcome. It took 10 minutes longer to cook than stated and the top is almost burned. The taste is very sweet. Too much sugar I think. I will keep looking for a strawberry cake recipe. Thanks anyway!

Peppermint Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
This cookie has great flavor. They were difficult to cut. The peppermint may have needed to be pulverized rather than crushed. Overall a great cookie.

This cookie is delicious with or without the peanut butter chips. I used margarine instead of butter and they came out perfect. I will definitely make these again.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
I made this last night. It turned out great. I omitted the ginger and green onions because I didn't have any. I did make this once before with all the ingredients and I actually liked it better this time. This is a little time consuming but well worth the effort.

Grandma Minnie's Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
This was a little difficult at first. I tried to roll out with sugar rather than flour like some reviewers suggested. It was not an easy task. The dough was sticky even after refridgerating it. It was much easier once I used flour on the board and mixed it into the dough. These cookies had a good flavor but watch your thickness because if you roll to 1/4 inch they tend to get very crispy around the edges.Overall a good recipe.

Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
This was a great peach pie, my husband, who normally hates pie, had two pieces. That was a great compliment. I did not use the egg and I omitted the nutmeg. It had plenty of flavor with just the cinnamon. I will definitely be making this pie again.

Tater-Dipped Eggplant

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2006
This was o.k. It tasted more like potato than eggplant. I parmed what I had left and it was really good. I will probably stick with my regular recipe for parm though because of time.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2006
I was asked to look up a recipe for zucchini brownies. I had never even heard of these, but after finding this recipe I had to try it. The mix was very dry which really concerned me. I had read a reviewers suggestion of using a mixer. After I tried that they were alot more moist. I did have to press them into the pan. These came out really good. You didn't even notice the zucchini in them( I chopped mine after shredding it as my hubby dislikes zucchini). Rave reviews from everyone who tried them.

Cheesy Zucchini Casserole I

I tried this recipe last night. I normally don't cook with zucchini, but I had some given to me. It was an ok dish. The casserole was a little dry. My kids and hubby did not like it at all. I will not be making this again.

Chocolate Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2006
This was a fast delicious dessert. My hubby can't get enough of this very rich chocolatey concoction. I have made this twice and every one loves it. I used margarine the first time and while it came out good, it tasted much better the second time using butter. Thanks for a great easy recipe!
