Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
I really enjoyed this cake. It came together very easily! Only thing I would do differently is let the strawberry sit in a little sugar for awhile to bring out the juices. I will definitely make this again...Thanks for a great new recipe!

Dirty Girl Scout

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
This was very strong! My second glass I opted for 2 oz. of Baileys. That helped even out the flavor. Overall a good drink...Definitely fitting for the 100 year anniversary of Girl Scouts!

Quick Elephant Ears

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2012
These were very easy to make. My kids were not big fans. They were passble but I would not serve them to company. Too much of an oily taste for me. I probably won't make these again.

al fresco Roasted Pepper and Asiago Chicken Sausage Frittata

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2012
This came out really good. I increased my eggs to six otherwise made the recipe as written. It came out a little dry for me so I would lessen the cook time somewhat. The sausage was a great flavor. I would definitely make this again! Thanks Al Fresco for a great product.

Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage and Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
Such a yummy soup! The Al Fresco Chicken sausage is so good! I followed this recipe to a tee. I think it could have benefited from a little more broth but otherwise it was perfect! Quick and easy! Love it!

Italian Chicken Sausage Risotto

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
Made this tonight! First time ever making risotto...not sure if I did it right. But I thought it came out great! The Al Fresco Chicken sausage is really good! I did omit the wine and replaced it with chicken broth. Definitely a recipe to try!

Fiber One® Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
These were very easy to make. The peanut butter taste was not very strong...I would probably add a little more next time. I had mixed reviews here...they either liked them or hated them. I liked them, the Fiber One was not overwhelming as I was afraid. I would like to do these using melting wafers as after they came out of the fridge and sat awhile they were melty. Overall not a bad recipe. If I had Fiber One in the house I would make these again, but I don't think I would go out of my way to purchase it just to make them!

Rocky Mountain Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
This stew was so yummy! I never can seem to get my seasoning just right for stew but this was perfect. I used diced onion cooked along with the beef, just not sure my kids would have been a fan of pearl onions. I used canned peas at the end just a preference. This will be my new go to recipe for stew! Thanks for an awesome recipe!

Slow Cooker Oats

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
This was very easy to throw together. I followed the recipe exactly cooking for 8 hrs. I did not like the raisins in this. They may have been good if they were added at the end. I was a little concerned at the amount of cinnamon but surprisingly it was not overpowering. It did come out very thick but I always add a touch of milk to my oatmeal anyways. I did not think it was very sweet so I did add a little sugar to it. Very good overall recipe. I would make this again.

Mac and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
I was so excited to try this! I found it to be way too salty. The chicken bouillon I believe put it over the top. I will try this again but lessen the amount of bouillon if not omit it all together. Also may try a low sodium broth. It was very easy to put together and would have tasted great otherwise! Thank you for the recipe.

Slow Cooker Potato Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
I really wanted to like this. The garlic was very overpowering. I omitted the bread crumbs. The texture was odd with the potato flakes. I ended up adding cheddar cheese salt and pepper to try to salvage it. It just didn't work. If I were to try this again I would lessen the garlic powder to 1-2 teaspoons. I would thicken with a roux rather than the potato flakes. The cook time was also off... the potatoes were not cooked enough in the 4 1/2 hours. I ended up having to finish it on the stove due to time constraints. Wish it had come out better. I will stick with my normal potato soup recipe! Thanks!

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
Made these this morning for breakfast. They are ok. Not sure I like the nutmeg flavor. I would probably sub it out for cinnamon if I make them again. They did not rise like a traditional muffin! My DD said they weren't her fave but she would eat them!

Easy Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
Made this tonight! I added 1/2 teaspoon pepper, garlic salt and ground mustard. The sauce was on the sweet side. The chops alone I would rate a 3 but served with white rice really balanced out the flavors so I gave it a 4. I would definitely use a thicker chop when making this. It was very easy to throw together and I will make it again!

Frosted Corn Flake Cereal Clusters

I made these with regular corn flakes. They were very sweet but good. They need to stay chilled or they get melty.

Honey-Garlic Glazed Meatballs

This was a great recipe. I loved the sauce. I used frozen meatballs which were just okay. I will try these next time with a homemade meatball. My son finished these up the next day. I will definitely make these again!
