Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
Great recipe! I made a few changes: - Used leftover mashed potatoes w/cheese - After beef/onion was cooked, added frozen peas, cooked chopped carrots, and a can of creamed corn and simmered until heated through.

Granola Bars III

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
I've been searching for an oatmeal breakfast bar and finally found one that I like! I made a few modifications. I omitted the raisins and added approx 1/3 cup chocolate chips instead. I used whole wheat flour and I also replaced the oil with 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce. I will definitely make this recipe again. Yum!

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
Very good recipe but very, very sweet! I took someone's suggestion on using caramel apple dip instead of the caramels/cream and it worked like a charm!

Jo-Ann's Power Bars

These were OK. I was looking for a decent oatmeal or cereal bar to eat for breakfast. I like "Granola Bars III" much better.

Pumpkin Protein Cookies

I did not like these and I usually like recipes with pumpkin. The flavor was very strong.

Insanely Easy Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
The chili turned out pretty good. I'm not a vegetarian and was making this for someone else so I do prefer meat in my chili. For those of you who like a thicker chili, I used crushed tomatoes instead of whole tomatoes and it turned out nice and thick.

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
I'm not sure it's right to label this 5 star since I changed the recipe a bit but it turned out awesome and I can only assume the that original recipe will turn out just as awesome. I used 1 cup unsweetened applesauce in place of the oil. My jelly roll pan was larger than 10x15 but it made the bars thinner. I also used the following cream cheese recipe because I like "cheesier" icing: - 8 oz cream cheese, softened - 1/2 cup butter, softened - 3 cups confectioners' sugar - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 1/4 teaspoon salt

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: May 21, 2007
Awesome! I made them for a large group so I split the dough into two and made mini rolls (about 35). The 2nd time I made it I split it again and froze one roll (otherwise we'd eat it all in a day). This is definitely a keeper.

Roasted Rack of Lamb

Reviewed: May 21, 2007
Awesome! I omitted the rosemary because were not big fans of the herb and it still tasted good. I will also half the salt next time as the other reviewers suggested. The breading was a little too salty for my taste.

Apple-Cheddar Tossed Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
Awesome! The dressing is the best part. I made the dressing the night before and it did not even separate. I will definitely make it again.

Glazed Meatloaf II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2006
Good recipe and I will make it again. Next time I will add a bit of salt as I found it a little bland (although it could have been because I didn't have beef bouillon on hand). I also cut back on the bread.

Shrimp and Feta Cheese Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2006
This recipe has become a staple in our house. It also tastes well as leftovers. I took the following shortcuts and it still turned out great: - Use pre-cooked, cleaned frozen shrimp. I still saute but not as long. - I've also used canned plum tomatoes.
