Getting ready to cook dinner
Our wedding day
About this Cook
My husband and I will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary in October... I love fall, it's my favorite time of year!! I love looking foward to fall foods... chili, roasts in the crockpot, apple pie, ect. We are enjoying life together and having a blast. My step sons, especially my oldest who is 9 love helping in the kitchen. My oldest has found that he loves helping me make brownies and fudge. My youngest who is 6 likes helping flip pancakes for breakfast :o)
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake!! Our favorite thing to make as a family that we always look forward to are Christmas cookies and birthday cakes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just trying new ingredients and changing up "old" recipes. My dad never makes something the same way twice, it's fun trying the new tastes in "old" recipes!

Lemon Whippersnappers
After making the cookie dough I thought to myself the cookies better be really good or I will never make them again... the dough is super thick and sticky, a bit hard to mix up. Sticks to cookie scoop and to hands (make sure to spray hands w/ cooking spray or coat hands in conf. sugar). However... the cookies are super scrumptious and very much worth dealing with the sticky dough. The cookies are nice and soft and just sweet enough. I can't wait to try out the recipe with other cake mixes... next up I'm going to try coconut cake mix!!

Zucchini Bread IV
This zucchini bread is awesome! I love zucchini bread, but had never made it myself. My husband and I made the bread last night. It was quick and easy and so so yummy, very moist. :o) After we split the batter in half, we put 1/4 cup of walnuts in one batch and topped that loaf with the crumbly mixture someone else suggested and in the other we put about 1/3 cup of chocolate chips. We couldn't wait to eat it because it smelled so good as it was baking. This will definitely be our zucchini bread recipe that we'll make every year!!

Teriyaki Marinade II
This marinade is awesome!! I didn't have fresh garlice so I used 1 tsp. garlic powder and I didn't feel like chopping onions so I used 1 TBS onion powder and 1 TBS minced onions, everything else was exactly the same. We marinated strip steaks for about 8 hours and grilled them... they were super moist, juicy and yummy!!!! I will try this marinade on chicken & beef as well.
