Marcia's Company Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
This is a real crowd pleaser. In my house the "crowd " is me and my 9 yr old son and it's hard to please both of us. Since I am under doctors orders to eat low fat, I used extra lean ground turkey, fat free cottage cheese, low fat sour cream and only 4 oz of low fat cream cheese and it was still good! Next time I will add a few spices since it is a bit bland using so many low fat ingredients; but, it's still great.

Slow-Cooked Vegetables

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
As they were cooking I noticed they smelled like stewed tomatoes and that was my first clue that I might not like this dish. I think that's more of a personal thing though, so if you enjoy stewed tomatoes, please don't let my review keep you from making this.

Terrific Turkey Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
This was ok; but, if I make it again I will definetly sautee the onions and peppers first. DS actually cried at the dinner table tonight in protest of the meatloaf and I suspect the white semi crunch oninos had something to do with that. I liked it though, so I might make this one again with that one change in the process.

Spiced Slow Cooker Applesauce

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
I REALLY wanted to like this and I made it exactly the way it was written; but, sadly there was just waaaaaaaay too much sugar in it and it was just a little too watery. I really wish I had read some of the reviews before making this. I do plan to make this again; however, I will reduce the water slightly and reduce the sugare to 1/4 cup.

Excellent and Healthy Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
For Low Fat this is as good as it gets! I added 1/4 cup of honey and used whole eggs and this was fantastice! My "cornbread snob" kiddo even loved these. FYI, I kept mine in the fridge and 2 days later they startet to get soggy, so if you do this be sure to plan on warming them in the toaster to dry them back out a bit. This is a definite keeper!!!!

Thanksgiving Flavored Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
I gave this a four star rating even though I probably will not make this often. Basically the toppings- whipped cream cheese and cranberry really make this dish. If you plan on skipping those items, the wow faxtor will be much less. The burger with toppings is a nice way to get your Turkey Day cravings satisfied any time of the year!

Savory Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
This is a great base recipe. It is lightly flavored as others have mentioned. The nice thing about that is you still have a lot of choices for how you want to serve it. Most kids would be fine with a slice of cheese and a roll. Adults may wish to add more toppings like cheese, special mustards, roasted peppers, grilled onions, peppers or mushrooms, etc. Overall this is a nice healthy main dish that can really be dressed up!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
I gave this 5 stars because it is SO easy to make, not too time consuming and tastes great! This is a solid recipe to take to a picnic, party or for a holiday. It's not a gourmet recipe; but, it is a definite crowd pleaser. The flavor is nice and light and the whipped topping really adds a nice touch. I used Cool Whip and have been adding the topping just before serving a slice as I made this for the family and it is being eaten over a few days time. I will definetly make this one again!

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
This was awesome! It was so good, that if we ever have a Thanksgiving with a small number of people, I"d rather make this than a whole bird. I did add one coarsely chopped onion and 3 stalks of celery chopped. I love the idea that we can now have turkey year round with no fuss!

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
This was FANTASTIC! I loved it and my son ate it with no complaints which is awesome. The only changes I made to this recipes are, I used the juice of 1 lg lemon, 1 can of chicken broth and a dash of lemon pepper seasoning. We will be making this again and again and again!

Easy Slow Cooker Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
I have to agree with the other people who felt this dish lacked flavor. I really thought the apple pie filling would add some great flavor to this recipe; but, it did not. I don't think we will be making this dish again.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
I loved this recipe and so did my picky son. Like others, I cut the soy sauce in half and added 1/4 cup of honey. I also doubled the sauce so there were extra drippings for the rice. I will definetly make this one again!

Pork Chops with Apples, Sweet Potatoes, and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
I loved this dish! Sadly my 7 yr old did not. I think the sauerkraut is what turned him off; but, I thought it made for a wonderful, hearty dish.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
This is by far my favorite way to make chicken and dumplings now! It's tasty and most important...it's EASY! I'm sure homemade dumplings are a bit better; but, you can't beat this recipe for a busy night. This is the simplest way to make this dish I've ever seen.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
This was a fantastic recipe! I absolutely loved how much it tasted like something from a restaraunt! I do think a big part of this recipe is the buffalo sauce you use. That creates the main flavor, so be sure to pick a sauce your family will enjoy. We used the other 1/2 of the dressing packet to make regular ranch dressing which was enought to top all of the sandwiches. :)

Slow Cooker Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
I made this for a camping trip with the Cub Scouts and it was a HUGE hit! This is a great recipe if you need a crowd pleaser, since it is pretty basic. I think the slow cooker really got the garlic flavor into the potatoes. I will definetly make this one again.

The World's Best Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
I used this recipe to make a 20lb turkey. It took 2 1/2 hrs. at 350 degrees. Inside I added 1/2 an onion and cinnamon. This really added to the flavor of the meat and gravy. Also I put butter betwen the skin, and on the outside I added butter, tyme, sage, and marjoram. This made some tasty skin. My family loved the gravy and moist turkey!
