Graham Cracker Muffins

Reviewed: May 2, 2005
This recipe is good but plain. I followed the recipe exactly but added chocolate chips to some of the muffins. They tasted much better than the muffins without chips. Nuts would also have been a good addition.

Lemon Sugar Tea Cookies

Reviewed: May 18, 2005
We have a sweet tooth in our house but these cookies were MUCH too sweet. The texture of the cookie wasn't bad... chewy -when first out of the oven and crispy when they are cool.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2005
I love chocolate and these cookies had a great flavor. The only thing I would suggest is to put less chocolate chips. I used 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips and they still had tons of chips in them. They were very good but quite sweet. They definitely looked great though. I would take the cookies out of the oven when they don't appear quite done because this will give them they chewy taste. Everyone loved them though. Thanks for the recipe!

Speculaas

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2005
One of my co-workers requested these for her last day of work with us, but I had never heard of them. I wasn't sure of what to expect but the cookies turned out delicious. They are just sweet enough and would be perfect with tea. I left the dough in the fridge for about 3 1/2 hours and it was so cold I couldn't work with it. I would chill it for about 2 hours next time. I found the recipe to be very easy and very good. I would highly recommend it. Thanks Laura!

Chinese Restaurant Almond Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2005
These cookies turned out delicious! The only things I changed a bit are as follows: I used unsalted butter instead of lard, 3/4 cup white sugar & 1/4 cup brown sugar and 3/4 Tablespoon of almond extract. My boyfriend who does not care for cookies or sweets loved them. I know it is a great recipe if it can please him! :) Thanks for the recipe!

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2005
I have tried the other "garlic cheese biscuit" recipes on here that call for baking mix and they are great, but I happened to be out of baking mix, so I tried this recipe. The consistency and taste aren't quite right. The biscuits turned out very heavy and they stuck to the nonstick pan that I used. I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and used more cheese and such but the biscuits still didn't have the right taste. This recipe falls short.

Baked Pancake Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2005
I followed the recipe exactly except for adding a touch of cinnamon and mine also tasted more like cornbread than pancakes. My boyfriend liked them only when they were smothered with syrup but I did not care for this recipe. Thank you anyways.

Jordan Marsh Style Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2005
These muffins turned out great. I only slightly modified for our preferences. I used whole wheat flour, 3/4 cup white sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar and butter instead of shortening. I didn't sprinkle any sugar on top and they were still delicious. I will definitely be making again. Thanks Laura!

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2005
This pie was fantastic! I was wary of making the topping because my boyfriend doesn't like walnuts or anything very sweet on pies, but it turned out perfect. I would definitely reccomend making the topping. It is delicious. Thanks for this fabulous recipe!

Korean Spicy Chicken and Potato (Tak Toritang)

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
My boyfriend and I eat Korean food quite often and this particular dish has always been a favorite of his. This was my first time cooking it for him. Overall he really enjoyed it. The only part that neither one of us cared for was that the recipe was too sweet. I would definitely cut back on the sugar next time and add bell peppers as we have had before. Thank you for the recipe!

Fluffy Canadian Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2006
I was excited to try this recipe because of the majority of good reviews but was sadly disappointed. We followed the recipe exactly other than adding 1 TB of sugar as advised by one reviewer. The pancakes were bland and more on the flat side. They were not fluffy. Thanks for the recipe anyhow.

Cream Cheese Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
I followed other reviewers advice and used 8oz of cream cheese in the cookies. I love the taste of cream cheese but I did not care for the flavor of these cookies. They tasted better after I added chocolate and walnuts but I would not make these again.

Chocolate-Zucchini Cupcakes

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2006
These cupcakes were very tasty. I followed the recommendations of Henri Smith and used a 3.5oz Ghiradelli bittersweet chocolate bar, applesauce and cinnamon. I thought that the walnuts added a nice touch to the cupcakes but they would have been good without them also. Thanks for the great recipe!

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
These cookies have an excellent flavor. I followed the recipe to a tee other than reducing the white sugar to 1/4 cup as suggested by other reviewers and adding 1/2tsp almond extract and 1/2tsp vanilla extract instead of the brandy. There turned out perfect. Thank you for the wonderful recipe!

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
For those of you who like a white cake to be light, fluffy, and/or moist, this is not the cake for you. It had the density/look of cornbread and was not very sweet either. I would not recommend this recipe to anyone or use it again.

Yummy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2007
These cookies are not bad but they are not great either. They have a very intense cinnamon flavor which I felt overpowered the oatmeal and chocolate. On the other hand, my sister felt that the cinnamon was the best part. The cookies did have a nice consistency though.

Seafood Scampi Linguine

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
This recipe turned out wonderfully. Other than substituting extra shrimp instead of the clams I followed the recipe exactly and was very pleased with the results. I made it for my mom's birthday and everyone loved it. Thanks for the recipe!

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 14, 2007
Other than using wheat flour and omitting the pecans because I didn't have them on hand, I followed this recipe exactly. The texture and appearance of the cookies were great but the flavor was somewhat lacking. Everyone ate them but no one raved about them. They were good but not great.
