French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
I really liked this. It was easy, it smelled great and it tasted great. Served on French bread rolls from this website as suggested by others (good suggestion), provelone cheese, and sauteed mushrooms & onions. My husband added bbq sauce to the leftovers the next day and loved that as well. Great recipe.

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2011
I mostly made as is...I didn't have fresh basis, only the dried stuff, and only about 1/2 tsp, and I forgot to add the parmasan to the sauce so i sprinkled it over. Served over elbow macaroni (because I had a ton of it) and it was very yummy!

Bananas Foster Chimichangas

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
UN - BE- LEIV - ABLE. Ok, so, truth is, I had to change it a little. I don't have any spiced rum, so I used vanilla, I also thought cinnamon was needed and added approx 1/2 tsp. Put them in 10 inch flour burrito tortillas - bad idea - they really should be rolled in the thinner flour torts. I ended up dumping it out of the tortillas and just putting it over vanilla ice cream. SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD! There was a decent amount left over after the three of us had a bowl, and I advised my husband that if he didn't want to sleep with the dog for the next week, there would still be some left when I got home from work, they were so good that I think he may be sleeping with the dog!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
This was super easy, and I love easy...then when it turns out yummy...YEA! I used the pork shoulder roast, as well as two cans of beef broth, but only because my crock pot it kind of big, so I wanted more coverage on the roast. Don't skip the oven part...it really infuses the bbq sauce into the meat. Yummy!

Pierogi (Polish Dumplings)

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Yummy....sooo much better than store bought...but definately more time consuming. I made the dough as is, probably added 3Tbsp of flour while kneeding, which took maybe 20 minutes. Didn't make the sauerkraut cause hubby was having tummy problems and that irratates it (tmi, i know). As far as the potato filling, I used a bag of instant mashed potatoes (four cheese), added some cheddar/jack cheese, sauteed onions, some garlic, and a little bit of cooked bacon. Made approx 33 dumplings, froze on a wax paper lined cookie sheet for about 1hr. Boiled half in salted water for about 5 minutes (put away other half for later date), then of course you MUST saute with butter an onions. Top with sour cream...yum, Yum, YUMMY!

FAN-TAS-TIC. after devouring his, my husband said enthusiasically "that was good, you can make those anytime you want". Really good. I added some cinnamon to the crepe mix, but probably not enough to be noticed. Single batch made 11 crepes (6 inch). super good, excellent christmas morning treat.

Peanut Butter Balls III

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
I used a full 18 oz jar of Jif (the only way to go), and later added about two heaping spoonfuls because I had too much powdered sugar. I only used 3 cups P.S., next time I think 2 would be just fine. Used milk chocolate chips, melted w/a little bit of parafin wax. Then w/a fork I "sprayed" some colored (colored w/food coloring paste) white chocolate over my egg shaped balls. They looked like little easter eggs. Turned out great, tasted even better

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2010
Well now, that was easy. I made as stated, except I added about 1 tsp honey to the bagel mix, and I let them sit for about an hour before putting in the water. I only made 8. 4 plain, 2 w/kosher salt, and 2 with garlic/parm. I havent' tried the plain yet, but the two seasoned ones were yummy. Nice and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Who knew making bagels was so easy...and yummy **Update** Must eat day of, the next day...not so much on the yummy

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
Very good. I also have a meat eater who would whine all night long if he didn't get any, so I decided to add the italian sausage suggested by others. It was really good. Hubby had three helpings. However, after giving it much thought with each bite, he decided that it would be better with shrimp.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
I loved them, hubby and kid thought they were ok, but I think they were great...and easy. I only had chocolate chip ice cream, and while it was good plain, it was soooo much better with the ice cream (plain vanilla would be better).

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2013
kind of fun to make. tossed the smokies in brown sugar, than the bacon, than rolled em up, popped em in the oven for about 20 minutes at 375. threw them all in a crock pot and put in fridge. Next day turned em on at about 8:30 (on high), and at our 1230 potluck they were almost perfect. I think next time maybe cooking a little longer before the crockpot. But definately a tasty little appetizer, especially for the meat lovers out there.

Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2015
After eating in complete silance, I asked the boys (husband and 12 yr old son), "Well, how did you like the pancakes?" - hubby said, "I thought they were really really good, possibly the best pancakes you ever made" My son said "oh, yeah, these were the best". I made mostly as written, 2TBSP vanilla was no problem, yes it was rather thin, but as most said, it fluffed right up. My only hiccup - when it was time to put in the vegetable oil, oops, I don't have any, no canola either.....ummmmm...ok, well I added one TBSP of melted butter (didn't want to do two, just in case it really screwed up the recipe)....no problem, tasted great as stated earlier.
