Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Good, I followed recommendations of adding some onion soup mix, beef bouillion, and garlic, but not extra salt (lots in the bouillion and soup mix already) I added a nice dash of sherry as well (sounded like a good idea, but didn't really taste it..next time i'll put two dashes in). Smelled SOOOOO Good while it was cooking, and tasted great.

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
Very good. Only used 1/2 cup butter for the sauce & I made the sauce close to the end instead of first. We aren't a fan of bacon, so I left it out. Otherwise, I kept the recipe intact. Yummy!

Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Made exactly as written except I tossed the flour with the cheese. This was my first time buying Gruyere, wow, it's expensive. ($10) It was very good. I asked my husband if it was worth the expensive cheese. He said that if we had company it would definately be worth it, but for just the two of us maybe we won't buy the expensive stuff next time.

Eggnog Quick Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
used small packet of instant vanilla, added maybe 1tbsp vege oil (healthy dash to be specific) and 1/2 cup extra egg nog. otherwise, made as written. Had to cook longer because of the extra liquid, maybe a total of 60 minutes (started w/40, went 5 minutes more, 5 more, 4 more, etc)Smelled like choc. chip cookies while baking (now i have to make cc cookies for a disappointed hubby). Turned out moist and flavorful. I could taste the egg nog so I wasn't sure if hubby would like, but he seemed to enjoy it.

Justin's Hoosier Daddy Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2007
This is the best chili I have ever made. I did make some modifications based on other reviews. I used only 1/2 can of chicken broth, and added 1/2 can of beer. I used one can of pinto and one can of kidney beans both drained, but not rinsed. And finally 5 teaspoons of chili powder instead of tablespoons. DELICIOUS!!!!

Ham and Cheese Strudel

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
This is so good! I don't use the low fat stuff or egg substitute. I use about 6 eggs & scramble them like usual and then add the sauce. Makes about 6, we usually have leftovers which are only okay the next morning, but still good.

Chocolate Toffee Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
My sister made this first, I took one cookie and thought it was just okay, but for some reason I couldn't get it out of my mind! The second cookie was wonderful and so addicting that I had to have the recipe right then so I could go home and make more....yummy!

That was good. I think it's not complete without some vanilla ice cream, (which we had), but it is absolutely worth a try.

Banana Crepes

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2013
FAN-TAS-TIC. after devouring his, my husband said enthusiasically "that was good, you can make those anytime you want". Really good. I added some cinnamon to the crepe mix, but probably not enough to be noticed. Single batch made 11 crepes (6 inch). super good, excellent christmas morning treat.

Pierogi (Polish Dumplings)

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Yummy....sooo much better than store bought...but definately more time consuming. I made the dough as is, probably added 3Tbsp of flour while kneeding, which took maybe 20 minutes. Didn't make the sauerkraut cause hubby was having tummy problems and that irratates it (tmi, i know). As far as the potato filling, I used a bag of instant mashed potatoes (four cheese), added some cheddar/jack cheese, sauteed onions, some garlic, and a little bit of cooked bacon. Made approx 33 dumplings, froze on a wax paper lined cookie sheet for about 1hr. Boiled half in salted water for about 5 minutes (put away other half for later date), then of course you MUST saute with butter an onions. Top with sour cream...yum, Yum, YUMMY!

Slow-Cooked Corn Chowder

Well that was pretty darn good. I used polish sausage instead of ham, just to make it a bit meatier, otherwise, I made it as written. Very good, and easy...I love it when it's easy :)

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
Yummy it is! I added a bit of cinnamon because I couldn't imagine eating sweet potatoes w/o it. I topped it w/half marshmellows and 1/2 of the topping from the recipe...the topping from the recipe was first to go, next time no marshmellows!

Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon with Port Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
So hubby was worried when he saw that I was putting a steak in the oven instead of grilling it. But have no fear...first bite.."Wow, that's good......that's really good". Never doubt Allrecipies! I made as written, added some sauteed mushrooms. Very expensive dish, but a very nice treat.

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2011
I have wanted to make this for a long time, but was hesistant because of the length of time to make. But I had time yesterday. It was very easy, I didn't cut up the chichen until it was cooked, much easier to shred and saved time from cutting it up in the first place. Made recipe as written. Very good. Chicken was perfect, flavours were great. I have another recipe for chicken enchilada's that I ususally make and hubby loves, but he said that these were better and given the choice, he would pick these, look like a I have a new rotation recipe. My picky 9 year old even liked them! Oops, I lied, didn't make as written, left off the olives, we aren't an olive family.
