Cherry-Berry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
Not bad, made it for a bbq, it was gobbled up. When I asked hubby what he thought of it, he said "good, definately enjoyed it, but not enough to ask you to make it again", so there you go...worth one time, but not a keeper

Pork Chops with Blackberry Port Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2011
I also couldn't find blackberry juice, but i did find cran/blackberry V-8, otherwise recipe was made as written. I was disappointed, it was really just Ho Hum. Not bad, but not good either, not a lot of flavor, could have been the blackberries fault, maybe they werent' in season, idk, but I will not make it again.

Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
Made as written, (except 1c white/1c brown sugar) & added plain M&M's....WOW! I could not stop eating them, no really. I can usually grab one cookie and be done for a few hours or the next day, but I really could not help myself with these. I definately have found my PB cookie recipe, my diet hates them, but YUMMY!

Absolutely the Best Nacho Dip Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Well, good, different....my mother loved it, said it was "light", i didn't add the peppers, (not a pepper family). I did add diced tomatoes and 1/2 with olives. The Cucumbers indeed compliment the dip very nicely. All that said, likely wouldn't make it again.

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Good, made as directed, except 1/2'd the recipe. Little too salty, IF I made it again, i would cut the salt in half, but I honestly don't think I'd make it again unless hubby had a craving (which is why I made it in the first place)

Easy, turned out great, very moist. Hubby gave it a thumbs up. Used walnuts as I didn't have any pecans on hand

Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon with Port Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
So hubby was worried when he saw that I was putting a steak in the oven instead of grilling it. But have no fear...first bite.."Wow, that's good......that's really good". Never doubt Allrecipies! I made as written, added some sauteed mushrooms. Very expensive dish, but a very nice treat.

Slow-Cooked Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
Well that was pretty darn good. I used polish sausage instead of ham, just to make it a bit meatier, otherwise, I made it as written. Very good, and easy...I love it when it's easy :)

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Pretty good. I wanted to try a new meatloaf recipe. It was good, I'm glad I tried it, but it wasn't good enough to make me switch.

Slow Cooker Beef and Mushroom Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
Pretty good. The only changes I made was 1/2c burgandy, 1/2c sherry because I ran out of the burgandy. I also added two red potatoes. It was pretty good, smelled great too. Would I make it again? not likely, but definately worth a try. The broth wasn't as thick as I'd like, add some cornstartch if you want it thicker.

That was good. I think it's not complete without some vanilla ice cream, (which we had), but it is absolutely worth a try.

Eggnog Quick Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
used small packet of instant vanilla, added maybe 1tbsp vege oil (healthy dash to be specific) and 1/2 cup extra egg nog. otherwise, made as written. Had to cook longer because of the extra liquid, maybe a total of 60 minutes (started w/40, went 5 minutes more, 5 more, 4 more, etc)Smelled like choc. chip cookies while baking (now i have to make cc cookies for a disappointed hubby). Turned out moist and flavorful. I could taste the egg nog so I wasn't sure if hubby would like, but he seemed to enjoy it.

Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Made exactly as written except I tossed the flour with the cheese. This was my first time buying Gruyere, wow, it's expensive. ($10) It was very good. I asked my husband if it was worth the expensive cheese. He said that if we had company it would definately be worth it, but for just the two of us maybe we won't buy the expensive stuff next time.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
Oh, no! I'm out of bisquick, well Allrecipes to the rescue. It was easy and I had all of the ingrediants on hand. I cooked some with olive oil spray, and some with butter, I liked the butter ones better. I followed the recipe exactly. They were good. I doubled it based on other reviews, and for the three of us, I had approx 12 extra pancakes (it's ok, I freeze them for school mornings). All that said, we decided that while good, bisquick is still better.
