Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
YUMMY....I only had two chicken cubes, so I threw in a splash of white wine, not sure if it really made a difference, but I thought this was YUMMY

German Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
my first time making potato pancakes, and they were great. very easy...my 7yr old loved helping me shred the potatoes (in fact, he keeps asking me to make these again...not sure if it's the taste, or helping me shred the potatoes...hmmmm)

Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Ok, this one is a tough one to rate. I loved it, and I would give it a 5 and make it every year w/my leftover turkey. My husband..well, when I told him what was for dinner, he was less than enthused. He ate it w/o complaint, didn't get seconds and said no to wrapping up the leftovers (both are indicators on how well he likes something since he never tells me). So, I guess I have to give it a four..only because he (and my 7yr old) didn't care for it....but I loved it.

Triple-Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
I loved this. I used mini penne pasta, only about 1/4 tsp black pepper, and a healthy squeeze of mustard (maybe a tbsp). I let it sit before serving...about 20 minutes, and I thought it was fabulous.

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds with Sugar and Spice

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
Made a batch of regular, and a batch of these. my son picked these as the best. I only used 4 tbsp sugar overall, but next time would use maybe only 2. I had about 1.5 cups of seeds.

Frosted Cranberry Drop Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
Easy to make, i'm not real into this type of cookie...my husband requested a cranberry cookie, i found this. He said they "aren't bad" and would give them a 4 out of 5. When I asked if I should look for a different recipe, he said no. So I guess that means he liked them. I had him try one w/frosting and one with out, and he said definately with frosting. **Update, he made me change the rating to a 5. Said that they are definately a 5 the day after, but only a 4 fresh out of the oven. He also wants me to make another batch a.s.a.p.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
Ummmm....hmmmmm....well, growing up, I never really liked beef stew, it was bland. But I thought that it was just my mothers recipe (sorry mom). It was cold and I thought a good beef stew was in order. I found this recipe and was very excited to try it. Followed it as written. Bland. Maybe i'm just not a beef stew person, but since my husband didn't want the leftovers (true indicator of whether he liked it), i'm only giving it a 3.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Wow, that was good. I added nutmeg, cloves and allspice as well as the crumb topping. I also did the 1 cup brown sugar and 1/2 oil 1/2 applesauce. GREAT suggestions. Definately will make again.

Campfire Banana Splits

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
OMG, sooo yummy. I had been wanting to try this while camping, but I knew eating bananas attracted mosquitos. Well, we decided to go halloween camping (it was 40 degrees out...no mosquitos) so I decided to try it. We put peanut butter, choc chips and marshmellows in it. placed directly in the campfire for about 7 minutes (which seemed like forever cause i was so excited)....yummy, i may need to go camping in the cold more often just to have the excuse to make these....did I say YUMMY! yet?

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
OK, so my husband insists that his apple pie is "rectangle" (so there are corners with extra crust. I have had a problem making enough to do a top and a bottom. This one was perfect and it was yummy. I did have leftovers, but I made little cookies like my mom did when she had leftovers.....you roll it out, brush with butter, top with lots of cinnamon and sugar, roll it up, slice, and bake until flaky....SOOOOOO GOOD

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
I loved it. Added cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves and vanilla. mixed caramel with the apples, and brushed the crust with egg whites before pouring in the apple mix. The store didn't have granny smith apples (i know, weird huh), so I used golden deliscious, and jonathan..about 7 total, which was perfect.

Italian Love Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
Pretty darn good. Very moist. As others suggested, I made the day before, and frosted the day of. I also baked it in a foil pan that had higher sides. I don't know if I would make it again, but that's only because I don't make a ton of cakes. Definately worth a try though.

Bananas 'N' Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
Good, I checked it after 40 minutes of cooking and it looked done, so I took it out. It was actually a little dry, so next time I think I will take out after 35 minutes. Very good flavor, I think it would be good w/cream cheese frosting, but fine on it's own
