Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2006
I made this for girls night and it was a big hit. I spiked it and added 2c vodka and 1 1/2 c triple sec to the mix before I froze it. With booze in it, it does make a nice slushy mix which is easy to scoop out and mix with 7-up. I only used 1 and 1/2 cup sugar, as noted by others. Was asked for the recipe 3 times. Will make again for sure.

Beer Cheese Soup III

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
I'm not really sure what kind of soup this is. It's not broccoli cheese or beer cheese but the two of them put together. I too am from Wisconsin and am used to a much thicker version of this soup minus the broccoli. The recipe is good, but it's not a traditional beer cheese soup.

Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2006
This is a great recipe. The pan disappeared in no time and there was only 9 of us. I did add some garlic powder and some Tastefully Simple Onion Onion for more flavor. My whole family loved this! Even my mom who has been making fabulous cheese potatos for years said this is what she was serving for Christmas this year. Thanks so much

Florentine Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2006
Made this for a girls gathering and it was gone by the end of the night. As others have stated, I used 1 pkg spinach, 1 chopped can of artichoke hearts (couldn't find the marinaded ones and I do think that that would give this dish just a bit more flavor), a few shakes of garlic powder, 1/3 c sour cream, 1/2c mayo, only 1 pkg crm cheese, I did use 2 TBSP lemon and didn't think it was tart at all. Used 1c grated parmesean and about 1/4 tsp red pepper. Served with corn chips. Everyone really liked it, but I thought it could of used just a bit more of something extra. Is quick and easy to make. I made mine up the day before and baked for an hour at 375. Would make again.

No Time to Cook Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2006
My husband and I really liked this. I used one can each of crm of mush and crm of celery. Added about(all measurments other than soup are approximate) a half tsp of pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp celery salt and 1/2 tsp regular salt. Also added a couple of TBSPs of Tastefully Simple's "Onion Onion" which really added alot of flavor. Threw it all in the crock pot at 10am and cooked it on low til about 6, added a cup of sour cream and served over egg noodles - perfect. It's sort of like a chicken strohganoff. DH told me he loved it 4 times. We'll absulutely throw this one into the rotation. Thanks.

Amber's Super Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
This is a good stuffing recipe. I tweaked it a bit. I made this exactly as is but since I was cooking it in a casserole dish in the oven at 350 degrees instead of in the turkey,I added an extra 1 - 2 cups of chix. broth to make it moist. Baked for about45 min to 1 hour. Was a big hit at Thanksgiving. Thanks.

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2006
These are great. Even my sister who despises bacon ate one and was surprised by how flavorful and juicy it was. If you are a big texture person, this may not be the recipe for you as it is kinda like meatloaf in a patty but it sure tastes wonderful!!

Strawberry Romaine Salad I

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
Made this salad for a potluck fishing derby in Canada and it was the first bowl that was empty. I did leave out the onion and spinach and used a large bag of iceberg lettuce instead as there were many children there. Threw in a cup of fresh picked blueberries along with the strawberries and added 1/2 cup of cashews for crunch. Got lots of compliments. Would definately make it again. Thanks for sharing thing wonderful recipe.

Chocolate Chip Cookies V

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
The pudding is definately the key to these soft yummy cookies. They never last long around our house. I even hide a few from the kids so I have my own personal stash. Very Good!

Irish Cream Truffle Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
Will never make another fudge recipe again. I also added a stick of butter (instead of the 1/4 cup) to the initial batch of chocolate chips which makes it creamy (not crumbly at all) and since I was making it for the kids, omitted the baileys and just used milk. Am glad I used parchment paper to line the 8x8 so it was super simple to pull out of the pan and cut. Thank you so much for the great recipe!

Angel Food Candy

Followed the exact directions and this turned out perfectly. Just remember, when you pour it into the pan, don't stir it or mess with it - it will make it less airy. Thanks for the recipe.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
My husband and I love, love, love this recipe and would eat it all the time if it were just a bit healthier. So we have it on occation but it is always something to look forward to. The gravy over the chicken is super. I usually double it to pour over noodles. Absolutely grand!!!

Candied Kielbasa

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2006
These got scarfed down - super delicious. Many have asked for the recipe. I, too, fried the kielbasa before hand and drained off the grease. I doubled the sauce recipe, also. Be careful not to over cook these or they turn into tiny hockey pucks.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2006
With all the great reviews this recipe got, I was pretty let down by the way it turned out. I followed the recipe exactly and found this soup to be rather bland. Have been making a different version of wild rice soup (with bacon) for years. Maybe I am just used to that one. The bacon adds much more flavor.

Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: May 13, 2005
This recipe rocks. I made it for mothers day and the whole pan was scarfed down. Was a little leary with no spices but I followed the recipe (used sharp cheddar instead of mild) and it was fantastic. Glad I didn't add any extra salt. Thanks.

Texas Pralines

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
I followed this recipe exactly and ended up with an expensive mess. I live in WI so I know it wasn't an altitude thing. Don't know what went wrong as I did everything the recipe said and ended up with a sheet of sticky carmely pecans that may have been suitable for ice cream topping but that's about it. There has to be a better recipe out there.

Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2006
I only gave this one a three because it's probably my own fault. I tried to make a large batch (24 servings) following the same converted recipe. I have used other recipes in the past that have turned out great. These just seemed excessivly sticky and hard to work with. The mess I made wasn't worth the outcome in flavor. For all the work, I wouldn't try this again.

Dad's Pan-Fried Green Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2006
I really liked this recipe - what a great way to add some zest to green beans. I wasn't sure at first cuz I tasted the soy mixture before it was cooked and thought it tasted gross but after simmering and reducing in the pan, these beans are now a favorite here. I used EVOO and skipped the seasame seeds as I didn't have them - still turned out fabulous!
