Strawberry Romaine Salad I

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
Made this salad for a potluck fishing derby in Canada and it was the first bowl that was empty. I did leave out the onion and spinach and used a large bag of iceberg lettuce instead as there were many children there. Threw in a cup of fresh picked blueberries along with the strawberries and added 1/2 cup of cashews for crunch. Got lots of compliments. Would definately make it again. Thanks for sharing thing wonderful recipe.

Chocolate Chip Cookies V

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
The pudding is definately the key to these soft yummy cookies. They never last long around our house. I even hide a few from the kids so I have my own personal stash. Very Good!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
This was a huge hit at a summer party. If you make the tortilla chips, watch them cuz they will burn. Next time I'll make the salsa as is, but will probably try to track down some sweet tortilla chips.

Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
Not sure if it was the exquisite pizza sauce recipe that I used but this didn't turn out well at all. No one in my family liked it.

This was just so so. I will keep looking for a better pizza sauce.

Marinated Tuna Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
What a great way to add some zip to grilled tuna. Wouldn't change a thing.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
Turned out fabulous! Tweaked it alittle as other users suggested. Used beef broth in place of water, used 2 pkg of the dry italian seasoning and used a chuck roast. Cooked for 8 hours on low, removed the roast and shredded it (it literally fell apart) then added a sliced onion and a red pepper and returned the roast to the juice in the crock pot. Served on hard crusty bakery buns with provolone cheese. Also served Hashbrown Casserole II from this site. Everyone loved both dishes. Thanks again.

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
Very sinful, but very tasty. Nothing light about this dish AT ALL. Used 2 cans of cream of chicken, didn't add any butter to the casserole itself (but did mix 1/4 c melted butter w/ 3 cups crushed cornflakes for the topping) and added about 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper for alittle extra zip. Baked covered for 1 hour, then added cornflake mixture and baked uncovered for about 25 minutes. Got rave reviews and there were no leftovers. Will make again.

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
Loved it! Used real garlic instead of garlic powder, added some sesame seeds and added about 1/2 cup of the pineapple juice to the marinade. Made a double batch and marinated chicken, red onion, red pepper and pineapple for about an hour. Served with a wild rice pilaf. Will add this one to the rotation. Thanks.

Spaghetti Pie II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
Simmered one 15 oz can tomato sauce and once 6oz of tomato paste together with 1 1/2 TBSP spicy spaghetti seasoning (Sams club), added cooked drained hamburger instead of diced tomatoes and I left out the onions (substituted onion powder) and green peppers as D/H doesn't like them, otherwise I followed the rest of the recipe. This is a great addition to the meal rotation. We both loved it.

Irish Cream Truffle Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
Will never make another fudge recipe again. I also added a stick of butter (instead of the 1/4 cup) to the initial batch of chocolate chips which makes it creamy (not crumbly at all) and since I was making it for the kids, omitted the baileys and just used milk. Am glad I used parchment paper to line the 8x8 so it was super simple to pull out of the pan and cut. Thank you so much for the great recipe!

Texas Pralines

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
I followed this recipe exactly and ended up with an expensive mess. I live in WI so I know it wasn't an altitude thing. Don't know what went wrong as I did everything the recipe said and ended up with a sheet of sticky carmely pecans that may have been suitable for ice cream topping but that's about it. There has to be a better recipe out there.

Angel Food Candy

Followed the exact directions and this turned out perfectly. Just remember, when you pour it into the pan, don't stir it or mess with it - it will make it less airy. Thanks for the recipe.

Caramels I

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
I followed this recipe to a T and ended up with a sloppy mess. I was very disappointed after reading the great reviews as I ended up with a sloppy mess. I made absolutely sure that the temperatures were exact. Don't waste your time (or money) on this one.

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
Used 1/2 c white and 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 c water and 1/2 c OJ and this was perfect. My family is used to the canned cranberry sauce (which no one really likes) and I was shocked when everyone went back for seconds, even my VERY picky 11 year old son. Will become a tradition in my house. Thanks for sharing.

Beer Cheese Soup III

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
I'm not really sure what kind of soup this is. It's not broccoli cheese or beer cheese but the two of them put together. I too am from Wisconsin and am used to a much thicker version of this soup minus the broccoli. The recipe is good, but it's not a traditional beer cheese soup.

Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2006
This is a great recipe. The pan disappeared in no time and there was only 9 of us. I did add some garlic powder and some Tastefully Simple Onion Onion for more flavor. My whole family loved this! Even my mom who has been making fabulous cheese potatos for years said this is what she was serving for Christmas this year. Thanks so much

Amber's Super Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
This is a good stuffing recipe. I tweaked it a bit. I made this exactly as is but since I was cooking it in a casserole dish in the oven at 350 degrees instead of in the turkey,I added an extra 1 - 2 cups of chix. broth to make it moist. Baked for about45 min to 1 hour. Was a big hit at Thanksgiving. Thanks.

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2006
I followed this recipe exactly and it was just okay. I've had other versions of this before that were better. There was nothing necessarily bad about it, just nothing super about it either. No one at the party commented on it and there was about half the pan left at the end of the gathering. Wouldn't make it again.
