I was very skeptical about this recipe, sounded too simple to waste my nice meaty ham bone on. But it was delicious! I omitted the green pepper and added carrots and celery. I used a can of cannellini beans instead. The leftovers have been great for lunch! I'll definitely made this again when I have my next ham bone to use!

Baked Omelet

This was great! Easy, heats up well, and you could add whatever meat/veggies you like. I'd like to try this with mushrooms, green chiles, and some tabasco. Yum!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

I thought these were good, but certainly not 'to die for.' The topping mixture needs to be halved, at least. I don't even think it's necessary and almost takes away from the yummy blueberry flavor. I'd do a sprinkle of turbinado sugar instead. The muffin itself tastes pretty basic. I'll keep trying new muffin recipes to find the perfect one.

Reuben Hot Dish

Yum! I used a lot more rye bread cubes--maybe half of a loaf--and did not crush them. I think you get more of a crunchy rye bread taste that way. I also used more cheese, about 3 cups. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. Great recipe if you like sauerkraut.

Meatball Sandwich

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

I didn't follow the recipe exactly, but these were great. I dumped a 2.5 pound bag of frozen chicken breasts into the crock pot and used about a bottle and a half of Frank's Wing Sauce. Cooked on low about 7 hours. I think the leftovers were even better when the flavors had more time to meld. Fabulous with blue cheese!

Taco Bake II

I was soooo disappointed. The name "Taco Bake" made me think this was more of a casserole type of meal. This is just nachos baked in a 9x13 pan. The chips get soggy. It's a waste if you have leftovers because they would taste terrible. The meat mixture is okay, but the idea of layering all this is unappealing. Just make nachos on a cookie sheet if you're thinking of making this recipe.

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

I thought this was good, but not my favorite cream cheese frosting. I didn't want to eat gobs and gobs of plain frosting like I do with a really great recipe! :) The consistency was smooth, but the frosting was thinner than I expected it to be and didn't 'set up' at all.

Frosted Banana Bars

Good, basic recipe. Unlike other reviewers, I used a larger pan--a 12x17 since I didn't have a 10x15. It worked just fine, baked for about 15 minutes. Definitely a lighter, cakier texture than I was expecting. But still good. I used 3 large bananas.

Garden Pasta Salad

I'm so glad I read reviews first. One bottle of dressing is plenty. I didn't measure the veggies, just dumped in whatever I chopped. Sliced black olives would add nice color, I didn't have any but will use them next time. I added shredded cheese instead of grated. Great recipe for a quick pasta salad!

Chocolate Cherry Cake III

I loved the frosting. The cake was good, not my absolute favorite, but good. I love how easy it is to whip up. I think I'd add a little less almond next time, I found that flavor a little too overwhelming. I wonder if this recipe would work with other flavors of cake and pie fillings? Might be worth a try...

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Wow, this was fabulous and super easy! I did brown the butter first as other reviewers suggested. I also just realized that I read the recipe wrong and added one tablespoon of both the soy sauce and balsamic vinegar. I think I'll continue to do this, it seemed to be a good mistake! Excellent flavor. I will use this recipe a ton and try it on other veggies as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Very good! I followed Brown Sugar Girl's recommendations, except for the noodle part. I always use Reames frozen egg noodles in soups, I highly recommend it. Just add the noodles to the broth to cook. Great basic recipe to play with!

My Kid's Favorite Pork Chops

This recipe didn't do much for me. The sauce was very thin, I think I'd let it simmer covered for an hour then uncover for another hour to let some liquid evaporate. But I'm not sure that I'll try this recipe again. I liked that it was so easy, but the flavor just tasted like BBQ sauce on pork chops. Sorry...
