Slow Cooker Sweet Basil Chicken

I used frozen chicken breasts (it's what we had). I defrosted them slightly, dried them and rubbed each chicken breast with paste before putting it in the crockpot. I put them in on high for 3 hours and they turned out great. Moist and flavorful! Great as a main dish, but perfect chicken to use in other recipes too.

Apple Butter Spice Cake

I was looking for a good fall dessert recipe to make for a group we have over each Thursday night. I made it at night to test it out and so my family had it warm. I didn't like it warm as much as I liked it the next day when it was cold. It had a very moist texture. BUT, I don't think I would consider this a cake really. It is more like a coffee cake or dense like banana bread.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

My husband is allergic to poultry so I have a lot of time to perfect beef recipes. We used extra lean ground beef and followed the recipe exactly. It is our favorite meatloaf recipe (and I've tried at least 5) and makes it to our table frequently. Everyone who has tried it at our table always comments on how yummy it is.

Chewy Granola Bars

I think the name is misleading. They don't taste like store bought granola or granola bars. They are more like a semi-sweet oat bar. That is why I rated them a 3. I wasn't "wow-ed", but they weren't bad. If you want a treat that is not too sweet, this one fits that description.

Cinnamon Snack Mix

I used Keebler's bug shaped cinnamon honey-graham crackers instead of Teddy grahams. I also put Kix cereal in the mix. Next time, I would put in pretzels and salty peanuts for a sweet/salty snack. I might also add more raisins. They seemed few and far between. The overall taste is great.

Marinated Pretzels

I use butter flavored popcorn oil when marinating pretzels instead of olive oil. I love the light buttery flavor along with the other spices. I've never made marinated pretzels with the big sourdough pretzels until today and I liked it better. They're not as pretty, but they soak up the flavors much better. Yum! They're addictive. If you're serving them to more than 4 people, you might want to make a double batch!
