I love to cook and everything that goes along with it (especially the eating part) if it weren't for the clean up part I might cook constantly!
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new recipes...the ingredient search is super...just find a few things you need to get rid of, plug them into the search and you have a new recipes that just might be the next big hit!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I think my favorite thing is my Mom's Christmas Dinner...we have a lot of typical dishes but put the meal together and it is decidedly a special occasion meal.
My cooking triumphs
That would be anytime I make something and it comes out as it should...I am terrible at following directions.
My cooking tragedies
Most recently my Au Gratin Disaster. I had some potatoes that were near the end and decided to concoct a cheese, butter, sour cream, potato dish that ended up as a hit with myself and my husband. But, not before it has to be drained, baked for an additional 20 minutes and finally broiled for 10 minutes to make it edible!

Cantaloupe Crunch
The reviews are correct...it's definitely hard to tell this was cantaloupe as there was no melon flavor...at all. Good thing in my book. Make sure you taste your melon and adjust your sugar amount...I did not add any extra sugar since my melon was naturally sweet and with the cake mix it was really still too sweet for my liking. Everyone who tired this raved. I won't use this recipe again but it has inspired me to create my own without using a box mix so I can control the sweetness. Another suggestion, make sure your melted butter covers the entire cake mix top or you will have powdery spots. Maybe use more than 1/2 cup melted butter or spread it out with a spatula after you drizzle it over the top

It's Chili by George!!
Great basic chili recipe...I tweak it every time and it turns out great. Recommend cutting the tomato juice back unless you like it soupy.

Heavenly Hot Dog Sauce
This was just like the hotdog sauces found in my home town and surrounding area. I added a little more red pepper and chili powder because I like it spicy. Will definitely make again and again!
