No Sugar Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2014
Just didn't like these. The kids didn't like them either, which leaves them for me to eat....which I really don't want to do. We're not sugar fanatics, and I make things like this a lot (no sugar, flour, etc.), but these just didn't do it for me.

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2013
Fabulous! Made just as directed as cupcakes. They didn't take long at all to bake and taste fantastic. Wouldn't change a thing. Oh, I did just PAM the pan instead of flowering it and that was fine. 5 starts. Much better than the mixes out there.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2013
Piece of cake to make (no pun intended). I literally don't think I'll buy frosting again. I only had 3tbsp cocoa left so I made a half batch and it still was okay in my kitchenaid mixer. Made according to directions. Just great!

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
My dogs love these. We make them all the time. They do mold if you keep them out so we cut them all up and store them in the freezer and then take out what we need for a couple days and store in the fridge. It's so great to know just what's going into your treats and they're much cheaper to make than the natural ones you buy at stores.

Cheesy Artichoke Dip by Jean Carper

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
Very good. Very easy to make. I had non-herbed got cheese and marinated artichokes (which I rinsed) and it still turned out really well. My husband said to decrease the mayo next time, but I think it tastes good. As a previous reviewer noted, there is a strong goat cheese taste. This is a positive for me, but if you're not crazy about that flavor you may not enjoy this. I really liked it overall.

Bananas 'N' Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
This was very good. I' recommend that you leave it in the bundt pan for a while to cool. I took it out of the oven, waited a couple minutes and then tried to dump it on the cookie sheet and the only half of the top came with it. No real worries, though, it looked okay put back together with the powdered sugar on top. I think it's definitely more 'cakey' rather than banana bread with the chocolate chips in it. They're a necessity to sweeten it up. I'd make it again. It's easy, because I often have all the ingredients on hand.

Chicken and Corn Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
I love this! I usually use fresh garlic instead of garlic powder. I also add chicken broth and use black and great northern beans. I put it in tortillas with enchillada sauce on top and bake for a bit. Wonderful!

Plum Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
I'm not sure why this is getting such rave reviews. No one in my house really liked this much. Maybe if you put in other fruits in addition to plums it would be better. I made it just as directed, but in a bunt pan. Guess I'm still looking for a way to use up those extra plums.

Burmese Chicken Curry (Gaeng Gai Bama)

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
This was okay, but not nearly as good as some of the other curry recipes. I think we overdid it with the curry paste and dry curry. I won't make this again.

Fresh Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
It's really good. The only thing I thought was it was too oniony. I'd cut back on the onions to make it better. Other than that, I loved it.

Almost Eggless Egg Salad

This is great. You definitely have to like dill to enjoy it, but I really love having it on a piece of toast. It's a great way to get some non-meat protein without sacrificing taste.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2006
My husband and I agree that our old reliable recipe from Betty Crocker cookbook is a lot better than this one. He says: too much oatmeal makes them chewy, but not good chewy. I say: not flavorful enough. They're fine, but I won't make these again.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Very Yummy. I even made them with half white sugar and half Splenda to cut down on calories. Never would have known the difference. The topping really does make these.

New Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2006
This was great! Brought it to a 4th of July party and got a ton of compliments. Note: I used only 1/2 cup of mayo (because that's all I had) and it was low fat and it was still great! No need to pile on the extra calories and fat if you don't need to. It will still be great.
