Waffles II

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Excellent! Followed the directions exactly. These were light and fluffy. These would be great with all kinds of add ins. I'm going to pass this one on to my mom who is always looking for a good waffle recipe to pour her homemade maple syrup over!

Banana Muffins with a Crunch

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
4 stars because I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I used 1/2 AP flour and 1/2 whole wheat flour. 1/2c. sugar and 1/2c. brown sugar, 3 mashed bananas, and cinnamon. I also substituted oatmeal for the granola because I didn't have any. Very, very good! Moist and very flavorful! Definitely making again!

Amish Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
My 9 year old daughter made these and they turned out great. I halved the recipe because I didn't need that many cookies! Besides that the only change we made was to sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the cookies before we baked them. A powdered sugar glaze might be good over them as well once cooled....

Fish Tacos with Honey-Cumin Cilantro Slaw and Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
Excellent! My husband loves this recipe. He now tries to order fish tacos out and always says they aren't as good as this recipe! I'm not a huge meat eater and I even thought this was pretty good. Do not try and save time by buying frozen breaded tilapia fillets it's not as good and your family will know! Follow the recipe exactly. Thanks for the recipe!

Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
YUM! I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great! Great texture, taste and they were moist. I made 18 cupcakes. The first review I read almost discouraged me from making the recipe, I'm glad I made it. To that reviewer that said it was eggy, maybe you used extra large eggs? Maybe use one less if your eggs are huge. The oj for me wasn't overwhelming, I used Minute Maid that my kids drink. The badder had a good flavor too.

Pumpkin Cookies V

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
I usually don't give recipes 5 stars if I don't follow the recipe exactly. This recipe deserves it! Here's what I did: I used 2 cups of butter instead of shortening, I used a 16oz. can of sweet potatoes and mashed them, and added an extra egg, I also didn't have the ingredients to frost them. These turned out great! Light, fluffy and just the perfect amount of cinnamon. These are definitely a keeper! I may sneak them in at our Thanksgiving dessert table! Try these you won't be disappointed!

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
My husband made this cake for me for my birthday. It was EXCELLENT!! Moist and delicious, had a great texture! My husband does not cook or bake and it was one of the best cakes I've had! He followed the recipe exactly. He topped with a chocolate sour cream frosting, the cake was the star though.

Secret Kiss Cupcakes

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2007
4 stars because I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I didn't have any kisses so I omitted them. I give it 5 stars otherwise. Great chocolaty flavor, they came out light and fluffy with a great texture. This is one of the better homemade cake recipes I've found! It makes a ton of batter, I had 18 large cupcakes, 24 minis and 4 star shaped (which are bigger than the large cupcakes)! I will use this as my go to chocolate cake recipe!

Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2007
I was kind of skeptical when I read the recipe. I didn't have much confectioners sugar so I tried this one. I was pleasantly surprised! Very easy and good flavor! Turned out glossy and the perfect consistancy. I just dipped my cooled cupcakes right into the blender and they came out with a perfect little curl on top! I will keep this recipe and use it again! My kids even liked it and they are my worst critics!

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2006
This was just ok. The flavor was great but the texture was not what I was looking for. It was a bit too grainy and eggy for me. It could have been my prepration too! 4 stars because it did taste good.

Chicken with Asparagus and Roasted Red Peppers

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2006
Very good! I'm not sure how much broth I used, I just poured it in the pan, I added the chicken and cooked it covered. I add the veggies and cooked them covered. The chicken came out so juicy and moist. The added cheese was great! I will make this one often!

Cream Puffs

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2006
These reminded me of the cream puffs we get at a giant Quarter Horse show in Ohio, the Congress. The filling is so good! Very easy filling and dough. I would reccomend using a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the eggs in, takes some muscle! I dipped mine in chocolate and they were perfect!

Soft, Moist and Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2006
10 stars! Absolutely the best homemade cinnamon roll I've had! These came out perfect! I am a cinnamon roll-holic, and I will be making these often. They were easy and every step of the process turned out perfect. I used whipped cream cheese frosting on them while they were hot and it put them over the top! Thank you for the recipe!

Chicken and Artichoke Minestrone

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
Very good and very easy. This made a ton! I froze a majority of it for another dinner. I followed the recipe as is and it is a very hearty, filling soup. Some crusty bread is all you would need to go with it!

Oh my goodness! These were SO good! I made these for a Valentine's Day dinner and they were a success! The badder was simple to make. I made mine ahead and baked in the muffin liners. I sprayed them well and they came out easily. So chocolaty, no need for anything else! Make these they are perfect!

Nesquik™ Quivers

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2006
Very good and EASY! I used sugar free Nesquik and they were still good. My 4 year old loves jell o so I figured she'd like these. She loved cutting them out. The flavor is actually good too. I was a little scared, chocolate jell o, but was pleasantly surprised!

Stole My Heart Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2006
Very yummy! I took this to a Sunday dinner before Valentine's Day and everyone loved it. I did modify it some. It made so much cream cheese filling I used it in the middle and frosted the top cake with it. I used the cherry filling that ran off to decorate the top. I didn't use any whipped topping. Still very good!
