My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday cooking is always a family tradition. I enjoy cooking the traditional Thanksgiving/Christmas meal complete with Turkey, ham, cornbread stuffing (in the bird of course), cranberry sauce, gravy, mashed potatoes with garlic, grean beans, salads, pumpkin pie, apple pie and more
My cooking triumphs
Catering my brothers wedding where I made several varieties of chicken (chicken breast with portebello mushroom sauce and an orange russian chicken) and more. I also cooked for 3 of my children's weddings which of course saved a ton of money. We have a pizza oven in our back enclosed patio and love getting together for "make your own pizza" nights with friends and family.
My cooking tragedies
Once I made a lasagna and forgot to add the cheese....of course, this was many moons ago.

Hudson's Baked Tilapia with Dill Sauce
This was a delicious recipe and everyone enjoyed it. The dill sauce is such a compliment to the spice of the seasoning on the fish. Thanks for sharing. I will definitely be making it again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
I am an experienced pie maker and after reading the reviews of this recipe I thought I would try it. I followed directions but only used 7 granny smith apples. I did add vanilla and cinnamon to the caramel mixture. Next time I will do as others did and add a thickener as well as mix some of the caramel mixture in with the apples before filling the pie pan with them. I will definitely pour the remaining caramel mixture over the crust because that was so delicious. Because I bake in a commercial convection oven, I did lower the temp to 300 degrees. For some reason I thought this pie was going to be much sweeter due to the caramel sauce but actually it is still a little tart, which I prefer. I will most definitely be making it again but with the changes I mentioned. I'm thinking this caramel sauce would be awesome over a peach pie too. Thank you to Grandma Opals family for sharing a treasured recipe.

Banana Crumb Muffins
I made these using my very ripe bananas and they were a hit with everyone. Only difference is I used an extra banana because it was there. They are very moist and disappear quickly.
