Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
So good. My kids loved it too. I will make it again and add some wheat germ for a little more nutrition. Put the oats in the food processor first as others suggested.

Brown Sugar Smokies

I don't especially like little smokies, but I had lots of family over today and these were devoured. So simple!

Naan

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
Oh my gosh this was good. We love to eat Indian food and I really didn't think that making these naan would come close to the resteraunt variety. I need to practice a little bit with the timing on the grill but these were goooood.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
I gave this 5 for taste because I think the shortcomings of the crust were entirely user error. I am obviously not a good roller of dough and it didn't look pretty by the time I patched it up but it tasted delicious. I'll give it about 10 more attempts becfore I take a star from the rating to be sure. Practice, grasshopper.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
So good. I think this is one I would like to perfect. Husband wasn't so crazy about the sour cream taste but I loved it. I left out half a cup of flour by accident and it still tasted good.

I used half parmesan and half mozzerella because thats what I had....soooooo good! I steamed some broccoli, and served it with egg noodles and warm bread sticks. Yum. Thanks for the recipe Rebecca.

Tater Tot Hot Dish II

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
My husband introduced me to the idea of Tater Tot casserole. Great comfort food. I gave it 5 because while it might not be my favorite food, my family LOVE it. I skipped the french fried onion rings, and added cheese to the meat mixture, and sprinkled it on the top for the last 5 minutes. I baked it at 400 to cut down on cooking time (about 35 minutes) and everything was warm and crispy!

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
I added more butter because why not? I cooked them right after preparing them so I'm not sure if that changed the flavor but they were so good. I left the skins on the potatoes too - didn't seem to hurt them any. Will definately make again.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
I've technically never made this recipe. My husband has perfected it though. They are known in my family as 'dad's famous pancakes'. Nothing like breakfast on a Sunday morning that you didn't make! A welcome addition to my husbands mac n' cheese or cheeseburger repatoire.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
Love this. I made double of the chicken and vege, and froze half, and did the same with the sauce. I freeze the sauce in a ziplock bag laying flat and it takes almost no time to thaw. Used premade pastry dough and it it was great both times!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
Considering I hate meatloaf I can actually eat this...my family love it! I've taken to making at least double of this (once I quadroupled it) then freeze the extra. I used to freeze it in foil loaf pans, but soon realized that it took forever to defrost this way. Now I freeze the mixture flattened out in a ziplock bag - it takes no time to defrost and I can stick in a loaf pan and bake it.
