Beer Margaritas

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
I have wussy friends because this was more tequilla than they liked. I'm not sure how you can have 'too much' tequilla but, whatever. They were good!

Extreme Chocolate Cake

This was good, but I ruined it by trying to substitute soy milk for regular milk. My bad.

Baked in the oven instead of stove top. Still yummy.

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
I don't generally like clam chowder but my family love it. I actually liked this soup! The red wine vinegar made the soup! I did the bacon thing suggested by others, which I wouldn't skip. Due to picky eaters, I didn't add celery or carrots, but I did sprinkle in some celery seed. It was a little thicker than we liked so I think I'll cut back on the flour next time. Keeper.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
So good. Used a water bath, baked the crust before putting the cheese cake in it, and quickly ran a knife around the cheesecake to separate it from the pan when it was done. No cracks, and it tasted great. Would have liked the non-pumpkin part to be thicker. Will make again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Will never try another recipe! So good. I didn't do that lattice but it was fine with just a crust on top.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
So good. I didn't follow the recipe too closely because I didn't have everything. Used 1/4c butter, onion powder instead of onion, 16 oz of spinach, plain feta but added Italian seasoning and only half the milk. And I didn't measure the cheddar so I'm sure it was more. Good though.

Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2010
We loved this and I'll make it again. 1/2 a cup of broth wasn't enough - I'd say I used at least twice as much.

Asparagus Chicken Crepes

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
Good, good, good. I used my own crepe recipe which was a little different, had no ham so skipped that but I LOVED this dish. I think I like the idea of shredded chicken in this and I love asparagus to I think I could have handled more than a cup. I will make this again for sure - and maybe add some artichokes. I think you could play with this idea depending what you have on hand.

Farmer's Market Vegetarian Quesadillas

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2010
Really bland. I love the idea of filling a tortilla with vege's you have on hand. We used red and yellow pepper, mushrooms, avocado and olives. To season, I just used some salt and pepper but it for sure needs something else.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
Only ok. I'd rather just bake 'em in some oil and soup mix. I'm glad I tried something different though! Thanks for the recipe.

Feta Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
Yum. So I stuffed the chicken with feta and then wrapped it with the bacon. I wanted my bacon crispier somehow but the taste combo was to die for! Thanks!

Stuffed Artichokes

They were ok. I loved the stuffing. But I think I'll just stick to dipping in some butter. Fun to try though!

Israeli Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
Yummy combination of flavors. I loved the parsley, mint and lemon - so simple. Took a lot more prep time than I imagined it would - lots of peeling and seeding and chopping. WAY too much olive oil. I would at least halve it and drizzle slowly till you get the consistency you want. Too much salt for my liking too so I will play with that. Nice and refreshing and will definately make again though!! Served in a pita pocket with some cream cheese.

Moroccan Tagine

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
This was pretty good. I left out the chicken (which was not missed) and added a teaspoon each of cumin, and cinnamon. I think I added more lemon juice than calledfor too. I will for sure make it again, but I think it will put less sugar in - I think the butternut squash was plenty sweet.
