Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
I gave this 3 stars for ease to make, however the results weren't as good as I had hoped. My fiance, (who says everything I make is outstanding) had to make some sauce for this chicken to eat it. I wasn't terribly impressed too, it lacked flavor. I might try the crockpot and foil ball method again, but spice up teh sauce somehow.

Jalapeno Chicken II

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
This recipe was almost right except for the undercooked jalapeno inside. I had expected something softer. So next time I might boil the jalapeno or cook it somehow before assembling. Other than that, it was a delicious dish worth making again.

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
This was yummy. I thoght I had worcestershire but once I got started I realized I was out. So I substitued A1 sauce since that was all I had. We used an electric marinader which infused this into the meat perfectly and grilled it over charcoal. I can tell that this would be good for any steak, not just flank. Give it a try!

Szechuan Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
I followed this exactly and after cooking the beef in the wok I tasted it. I thought it was too bland! So I added some chinese marinade that a friend had given us from china and it made it tasty. This recipe alone deserves 2 stars for it's lack of flavor. I highly recommend adding more to the meat/dish before serving.

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
I agree with the previous reviewer. This had the starts of a flavorful adobo, but wasn't as strong as the real kind should be. It was tastey nonetheless. Next time I might try a different adobo recipe.

Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
I made this in the crockpot and it was so easy and delicious. The second time I made it, I threw in some sour cream for some extra richness.

Colombian Stewed Flank

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
This was OK, next time I might use a different cut of meat. Mine wasn't as tender as everyone else stated in their review.

Baked Lemon Chicken with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
The flavor of this was delicious, and the mushroom sauce was really easy to make and adjust thickness. However, I overcooked the chicken using this recipe. Next time I might lower the temperature.

Bacon Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2009
This is seriously the best roasted chicken I have EVER tasted, let alone made! The bacon keeps the chicken completely moist and flavorful. I used a roasting pan, the chicken elevated on a rack so the juices kept evaporating in the pan. I added chicken broth as I went along to ensure I had droppings. Also, instead of stuffing with carrots (yuck) I stuffed it with 2 lemons sliced in half. It added some delicious brightness to the flavor. I will certainly be making this again and have already recommended this recipe to others - And i JUST made it last night! :)

Tomato Curry Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
Eh. This was way too sweet for my taste. The curry addition was good, but maybe next time I might use diced tomatoes. You might like this if you are into sweeeeeeet dishes.

I made without rice and this was delicious! Cut back on the carbs and the prep time and leave out the rice.

Garlic Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
This was so delicious! I cooked it with the amounts shown, and it was enough for two people for a dinner serving. If you are feeding more than two, double the sauce! Super easy, really delicious and quick to fix.

Scotcharoos

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
As written, 3 stars. If boiling them makes them hard, and the recipe SAYS to boil, shame on the recipe. These would have been tasty except for how rock-hard they were! :( Next time I won't bring to the point of boiling. Other than that, good flavor and very easy!

Molten Chocolate Cakes With Sugar-Coated Raspberries

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
These tasted really delicious and I served with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. The only thing that threw me off (quite possibly my fault) was that I used 7 oz ramekins and it was seriously undercooked on my first try of getting a cake out. It basically exploded into a chocolate mess on my plate. For larger ones, I think they need like 14 minutes or so. Another thing I learned for next time is DON'T FILL THESE TO THE TOP...OR EVEN CLOSE TO THE TOP! :) They rise A LOT!!! Gooey chocolate oozed out of one before it had become to big for the ramekin. Also, let them cool for about 15 minutes or so before flipping out onto a place because they set-up even moreso after sitting out. I'll try to make again using the tips I learned from the first round. They tasted divine!

Strawberry Avocado Salad

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
This was good but it seemed to be missing something. Maybe the tartness of feta? I'd try that next time and perhaps candy the pecans before tossing them together. The dressing seemed REALLY unappealing when I tasted it before tossing it together, but somehow the flavors do work after they are all in the bowl.

Creamy Shrimp Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
These were a delicious and a wonderful appetizer for mother's day dinner. I used a freezer bag with the tip cut off the corner to pump these into the tomatoes. Also, I used fresh shrimp and cooked in a little bit of chicken broth and seasoned salt before throwing into the food processor. It didn't have a fishy taste like some explained. It was spectacular!

Roasted Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
Another 5 star review! This was so delicious and tender, the meat just fell right off the bone. The store only had 5+ pound chickens, so I doubled the seasoning. I also puts a few pats of butter under the breast skin, and did everything else as the recipe suggested. I roasted on a roasting rack/pan for about 3 hours since it was so much larger. My boyfriend insisted this was the best roasted chicken he has ever had. Really easy prep and fantastic results - I recommend.

Hurricane Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
Wow this was actually really good! I was just looking to use up a german chocolate cake mix I had sitting in my cupboard and based on the reviews I decided to make this as a treat for work. It looked really cool when it was done baking, literally like an earthquake broke up a desert or something. And the taste of the cream cheese mixture was really good! Much more like candy and less like cheesecake but still SUPER good. This would be a lot of fun to make for school aged kids when they learn about earthquakes.
