Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2012
These are so good and so delicious. Very easy, but they do take a bit of time to actually cook. We have fresh sage in our garden that is perfect to use. Also, use a can of beef broth instead of the boullion. I personally prefer the taste and ease.

Grilled Chicken Wings with Sweet Red Chili and Peach Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2012
I have been on a wing kick lately and requested that my husband make these for my birthday. He doesn't like the smell of frying oil, and since these were grilled, he was happy to make them. OH MY GOSH THEY WERE AMAZING! I could have eaten hundreds. Ok, maybe not hundreds, but it sure felt like it because they were THAT GOOD! We couldn't find the peach/apricot glaze so just bought peach preserves and apricot preserves seperately and mixed them together. We also didn't have cilantro and so he left it out and they still were to die for. Crispy, sticky, and amazing.

Slow Cooker Tipsy Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
I just threw everything into the crock pot. I did not do it in the saucepan first, and I did not cook the chicken ahead of time. It wasn't needed, and it turned out great!

This was incredible. I made it for father's day and everyone raved about it. The dressing was outstanding.

Chocolate Mousse Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2012
Delicious! I was worried that it wouldn't be fluffy because my pie wasn't as fluffy looking as some of the pictures, but I was wrong. It was light and fluffy and delicious!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2012
I felt like this was missing something, and I made it exactly as written. The cake itself needed something, and was very oily. If I were to give this recipe another try (which I probably wont) I might use applesauce in place of some of the oil as some other reviews suggested. Also, the frosting was WAY too sweet and didn't taste like cream cheese enough. Use another recipe for the frosting.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
I've made this a few times. It's incredibly easy to throw together and have a loaf of fresh-baked bread waiting for you in a few hours. Sometimes I'll put this together on a whim on a Saturday night to have fresh bread ready for french toast on Sunday morning. The loaf turns out perfectly!

Jamaican Oxtail with Broad Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
Pretty dang good. My husband went nuts over this. The flavors are very different and exciting, and being able to make this in a slow cooker made it even better for me.

Veronica's Hot Spinach, Artichoke and Chile Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
I made this for a superbowl party we hosted at our house. I thought it was delicious, but the amount eaten wasn't nearly as much as other dishes I put on the table. Maybe it was the texture?

Teriyaki Rosemary Beef Kabobs

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
Incredibly delicious and very simple too. I was worried it would taste too much like terriyaki, but it was so much more complex with the dijon and the rosemary. I can be very picky about my kabob marinades, but this one is definitely a keeper!

Pumpkin Cookies with Penuche Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
I haven't actually made these myself, but had a friend bring them to a cookie exchange and they were by far my favorite. I'm scared to make any for the fear that I would literally eat each and every one myself.

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts II

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
I've made these quite a few times in my life, even as a teenager since it was somethign my Mom used to make. She would put a dab of ketchup on each one before rolling up, which interestingl enough carmelized and was an extra flavor that adds to the picture. We dip in warmed barbeque sauce now and there are NEVER any left. If watching your calories in addition to carbs, try turkey bacon. Butterball brand tends to crisp up nicely!

Easy Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
Nothing special, but then again I'm not a huge fan of cake to begin with. I have had a few recipes that knocked-my-socks-off, but this was not one of them. Sorry.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
I can make a killer prime rib, an amazing ham, but for some reason hadn't quite learned how to master a perfect turkey. I had tried a ton of recipes including the "fool proof" Alton Brown recipe (where you brine it in a cooler the day before - talk about a pain in the rear!) I had almost given up when my Dad was given a Turkey for Christmas so we decided to give it one last shot with this recipe, and I am glad we did! FINALLY a turkey turned out moist and delicious! I hate basting a turkey, and this was a god-send recipe in that regard. I actually had time to enjoy with my family in the living room instead of slaving over the oven every 15 minutes. The only change I might make is to customize the flavoring to our liking a bit better. I'd cut back on the dried onion flavor, and change to more of a rosemary/lemon blend next time. I'm excited for the ability to add this to my "big guns" recipe arsenal!

Personal Portobello Pizza

I have made this for many many years when I first discovered a similar recipe on the atkins website. If you are looking for a healthy and hearty pizza, definitely try this. You can play around with the toppings to your taste.

Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
Super duper delicious! I've had my share of candied yams and sweet potatoes at Thanksgiving, and had never made my own until this year. I chose this recipe because it seemed simple and got amazing review. I'm glad I did because it was out of this world! The only change I'd make is to add more marshmallows at the end so they would only slightly melt. My sister in law and husband adore the marshmallows on top.

Holiday Brie en Croute

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
I have made this multiple times for various occasions during the Holidays and it's always been a huge hit. I highly recommend apricot preserves, and cutting the outside off of the brie before baking. The first couple of times I made it, the pastry didn't come out looking very pretty, but taking more time to be careful to ensure it was sealed and cooled properly, it turned out beautifully moving forward.

Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
The title says it all - EASY! I made a more complicated one a few years ago that involved spinach and a few other ingredients, and this one was literally ready after a few minutes. I do suggest letting it sit in the fridge for a few hours or even days and let the flavors blend together.

Cocktail Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
I made these for a Christmas party, and I think out of the whole spread, these were THE BEST thing at the party! Perfect amount of sweet and tangy. The only thing I changed was I added about 1/4 cup of Worceshire sauce, and then threw in a package of smoked Hillshire Farms "lil weenies" since I had them on hand and wanted the dish to go further. The smokey flavor on the weenies with the sweet tangy sauce was to die for! Enjoy!
