Coffee Cake Supreme

Now I know why I choose allrecipe.com recipes that are rated with 5 stars. This coffee cake is over the top! I was in a pinch and needed to make a breakfast treat with ingredients that I had in the frig and pantry. This coffee cake is moist, tasty, sweet, crispy on the top side and rises to a beautiful height. It tops my mother-in-law's coffee cake by a mile but we will keep that to ourselves. Just yesterday I made a third one (in 2 months) and added a tbsp more of sour cream. Wow is this a moist cake. I cooked it only 50 minutes and its even more moist than the last 2! My husband is swimming one mile four times a week just to enjoy a slice (or two) each day. My four year old daughter finally loves walnuts thanks to this recipe. Now we are going to try it again but add chocolate chips! Make this recipe and you'll keep those who love you loving you!

Weekend Brunch Casserole

WOW! No sooner did I serve this breakfast casserole and it was gone! Easy, quick, tasty, no need to add or tweek it in anyway. Great even cold at lunch or warmed the next day. One note: the crescent dough will come out mushy if the sausage is cooked before baking the casserole for the appointed 15 minutes so add an extra 5 minutes to harden it. The first time I made this I cooked the sausage the night before and it sat in the frig overnight. The next morning the 15 minute baking time was served a perfect casserole. The second time I made this casserole I cooked the sausage just before baking and the crescent roll on the bottom was too soft. The additional 5 minutes baking time was effective. Enjoy this meal. My husband is eager for me to make it again.

The Best Chicken Soup Ever

My 4 year old daughter wanted to make chicken soup. Time would not allow us to make my usual crock pot recipe. So, I visited allrecipes.com and found this already 5 star rated recipe and it lives up to that rating! My daughter had the greatest time making this with me. We followed the recipe to the "T" and loved every bite! I know anyone who tries this recipe will thoroughly enjoy it! Its restaurant quality in our opinion. My husband and I have recently returned from London. There we dined in many fine restuarants of which none have come close to this recipe. A chicken consomme from our 5 star hotel did not compare to the flavors of this recipe. Try it, enjoy it then share it with others.

Hugs and Kisses Chocolate Cake

I cook and do so very well with or without a recipe. This is the worst recipe I've every tried. The cake never rose leaving a thickness of only a 1/2 inch. The bottoms, regardless of the flouring process to prevent sticking, stuck and tore further diminishing the already slender thickness. Now about the icing: UGH! 1/3 cup of milk with the other stated ingredients turned out frosting that was rock hard. I had to add more milk and confectioners sugar to create the right consistency. Well, once the frosting process was underway and the top cake layer was gingerly laid in place, the top layer cracked and slide off! I had to cut the cake into a square so that my husband had "something" of a birthday cake to enjoy. Horrible, absolutely horrible recipe! The flavor of the cake itself is far from rich. The 40-45 minutes cooking time is wrong as well. By the 32 minute mark the top began to crack and the inserted toothpick came out clean. All in all, don't waste your time with this recipe. Sad birthday cake this year in California.
