Fried Cabbage and Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
I grew up with this same dish, only my Hungarian grandmother called it Haluska (pronounced "haluSHka"). This is one of my favorite meals, super quick and easy to prepare and absolutely delicious! Definitely comfort food. Though my grandmother (and father) never added onions, I do like to add them, plus some minced garlic.

English Tea Cakes

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
Wow, these are delicious. I thought they tasted like shortbread cookies, but my husband said they were more like butter cookies. Either way, they were FANTASTIC! (I didn't use nuts, however.) On half the batch, I added a thumbprint of apricot preserves, and those were even better! I won't be making this very often, though, because I ATE WAY TOO MANY!!

Quick Savory Cranberry Glazed Pork Loin Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
Oh yes, we'll be making this one again! I didn't have apple jelly, so I used apricot preserves, and it was outstanding. I also substituted fresh minced garlic for the garlic powder, and made extra sauce from the beginning -- which I then divided: half for basting and half for the finished product. I had one of those pork roasts that comes with the little button that pops up when the meat is "cooked to perfection," and that coincided perfectly with the temp and cook time of this recipe. I served with roasted red and sweet potatoes and corn, zucchini, carrots, and green beans tossed with a light butter sauce.

Baby BLT

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2006
I filled mine with bacon, crumbled blue cheese, and chopped cucumber and called them Baby Cobbs. They were a huge hit at the party I brought them to, and making them wasn't as tedious as I'd feared. I will definitely make these again.

Buffalo Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2006
These are awesome cookies! Very easy to make and simply delicious. Instead of raisin bran, I used a multigrain cereal with flax then added golden raisins separately. Everyone who's tried them has loved them.

The Ultimate Chili

This is really good chili. My husband and I both loved it. I will make this again, though next time I will probably use a little bit less worchester sauce.

Chicken Stuffed with Spinach and Sweet Peppers

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
This is so good. My husband doesn't like most vegetables, but he LOVES this chicken. It's just a very nice, light flavor. We've made this twice and both times we had it with roasted red potatoes and sauteed asparagus. Yum! I'll make this again and again.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
These are tasty chops. As someone else already mentioned, they were so tender that they were falling apart (DELICIOUS!). I'm trying to minimize my intake of fat, though, so next time I will trim all fat off the chops and reduce the oil by half. I highly recommend these, though. They're very easy and very good.

Sweet and Nutty Moroccan Couscous

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2006
I loved this recipe -- it was super yummy. My husband really liked it too (and he isn't really adventurous when it comes to food). It was really light and the flavor was subtle but delicious!
