American Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2011
Really liked it, But when it came out of the oven I smelled the cheese and diary ingredients more than the sauce. So, I'll try adjusting it next time. Tasted wonderful though.

Trout Amandine

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
This was simple to make and tasted good. Used fillets instead of the whole trout, and crushed the almonds before browning them so I got more of a paste. Daughter liked it too.

Edible, not as flavorful as I expected with the soup mix and the sausage.

Green Bean and Bacon Saute

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
Edible, a little greasy and a tad spicy. I like spicy but don't care for grease in my vegetables. I'll try it again sometime and see if I get better results.

Garlic Rosemary Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
I liked this but I think if I try it again, I will use regular milk instead of evaporated and I will not use quite as much rosemary. Yeah, I know it's Garlic ROSEMARY Mashed Potatoes, but it's the first time I've cooked with rosemary and I found it more potent than I expected. But still good.

A Pad Thai Worth Making

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
Early warning.. This is one of those reviews where I didn't exactly follow the recipe. Rating it high anyway. Myself, my wife, and my daughter all LOVED it. There were a couple of servings left over but by the way my daughter acted, it won't be around for long. I used chicken bullion instead of stock and I completely cut the shrimp, fish stock, oyster sauce, and bean sprouts. But only because I couldn't find them at any of the local grocery stores. I will definitely make this again. Might add the shrimp next time, but the meal was substantial without it. . . .oh, and my wife and daughter both added a little bit more of the chili sauce to their servings. I didn't think it needed it.

Curried Cauliflower

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
I loved this, my wife really liked it. She said she would cut the curry in half. Neither of us has had much experience with curry. I think it was great like it was. We had it as a side dish with Pad Thai and after a couple of bites of the main dish the Curried Cauliflower was overpowered and seemed not as flavorful. I plan to try something similar to this as a main dish, as I think it will stand on it's own as a main course with something to beef it up.

Berry Good Smoothie

Reviewed: May 1, 2005
Lots of seeds in this one. Was very bitter so added 2/3 cup of sugar which improved it a lot. Then went a bit overboard and added another 1/3 cup of sugar hence creating an energy drink guaranteed to keep the kids crawling the wall for an hour or so. Not good at all following the original recipe though.

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2005
Edible, seems I've eaten many more traditional mexican dishes that taste a lot like this did. The shells just gave it an odd look, and frightened off the children.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2005
Put this on last night, it cooked for about 10 hours. Was pretty good, meat flaked right off the bone. Wasn't any left after having it for lunch. Halved all the ingredients so the sauce may have been a tad overcooked, but still good.
