Cinnamon Rolls III

Tried the dough multiple times and with brand new, fresh yeast. The dough never rose enough. Liked the taste but ended up chewy both times and not as they should have been.

California Roll Salad

I love making sushi at home (anything without the raw fish). This dish is fantastic. I did take someone else's suggestion and substituted the lettuce for a sheet of shredded nori I mixed in. Any one who loves sushi or one of those rice bowls restaurants serve (chirashi) would really like this.

Black Russian Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2010
very good cake. easy to make, it really rises a lot with the pudding in the mix and makes a lot. I made cupcakes- it made 12 cupcakes and i filled a loaf pan too and made a small cake. i followed others advice about the glaze - adding a bit of butter (i only used a half stick) and to make it a bit less caloric i halfed splenda with the sugar and applesauce with the oil and used a light butter. delicious and the house smelled wonderful! great cake and a bit unexpected.

Florida Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
DELICIOUS! I made these over the weekend after buying 2 pounds of strawberries on sale and in season. This muffins really had a nice strawberry flavor, were not too sweet but sweet enough. i did use half splenda /half sugar as well as half whole wheat flour mixed with the white. I love the way the juice of the berry makes for most of your liquid (make sure they are very fresh and ripe). I will be making these again, would probably make a nice cake too with a sweet crumble topping.

Butternut, Apple and Yogurt Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
this soup is excellent. Ive been on a squash kick and really enjoy the spiciness the curry gives- definatly add the yogurt, maybe a bit less curry if you are less into spicy. delicious for this time of year, wouldnt change a thing and so simple and inexpensive to make.

Hot and Sour Chinese Eggplant

this was excellent! i love spicy, i love eggplant and this was very easy to prepare and tasted like something i may order at a resturant. I added a bit of sesame oil and used splenda insteadof sugar and added mushrooms with the eggplant. seriously a good dish, goes well over noodles, im sure good with rice or even solo. yum

Crab Crusted Grouper

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
delish! This recipe was fantastic! I am trying to eat more fish, and prepared this way, i could eat it daily. Im sorry, i did make a few slight modifications- i used slightly less butter (smart balance light) and i didnt have any parmesan bread crumbs- i used some wheat saltines and added a dusting of parmesan. seriously, a very good recipe, im going to make this for company, i know it will be very well received and by the way, if you enjoy peppers, use more- looks very nice on a plate- lots of color. thank you- YUM
