Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2010
My husband loved this. I made this one with low fat versions of each ingredient. Turkey chili, fatfree refried beans, lowfat sour cream and cheese. Instead of assembling the burritos and heating them separately, I place them in a baking dish, covered with the sauce and cheese and baked 350 until the cheese was melted around 20 min. Then dress however you like with the lettuce, tomato and whatever else you like. Excellent recipe and something I would have never thought to make.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2008
I am a good cook, but couldn't make chocolate chip cookie. I can't even make edible chocolate chip cookies with the recipe on the package. Well, no longer. I followed the recipe exactly and baked for 10 minutes. These didn't go flat and weren't bland. They were chewy with many different tastes and textures to enjoy. I like the combination of my three favorite cookies-peanut butter, oatmeal and chocolate chip. This will be my go-to recipe.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
I dislike store bought crust, but thought that a good pie crust was beyond my baking skills. I was so wrong. This was absolutely wonderful. I usually eat the filling and leave the crust when I use store bought, but I found myself just wanting to eat the crust with this recipe. Simple, easy and fabulous.

Old-Fashioned Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
I am thankful I found this recipe. I have been looking for a simple and tasty fudge made with cocoa. It took about 30 min. for it to reach soft ball stage (I don't have a candy therm. and I couldn't wait until I had one to make this). I used too small a pan and it boiled over, but other than that it went smoothly. The hardest part was beating it until the shine was gone. I thought my arms were going to fall off but it is good that I burned some calories considering how much of this fudge I am going to eat.

Easy Biscuit Mixture

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
Very quick and easy. Needed more salt for our personal taste, but other than that the biscuit were very good. I mixed in enough buttermilk to make a moist dough and then turned onto a floured surface and kneaded sparingly until no longer sticky. Instead of rolling out and using a cutter, I simply patted into a rectangle and cut into squares-no rerolling and the biscuits fit perfectly next to one another. Popped them into a 450 degree oven for 12 minutes. Heaven.

A Jerky Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
I love this marinade. It is great for any chicken or pork. I also use jalapenos because I don't care for too much heat. I put the meat in a day or two before grilling to make sure the marinade really soaks in. Great recipe.

Grandma's Hash Browns

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
I'll be the first to admit that I was TERRIBLE at hash browns, but not anymore. These were easy and tasty and just what someone like me needs to do hash browns right. I am so glad I found this recipe. Thank you.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
I thought this was fabulous. I don't like mushrooms, so I used cream of chicken and cream of onion (I doubled the sauce, which most on here recommend). My husband loved it and he is usually a corn torilla guy. I don't like corn torillas, so it was great to have an enchilada made with flour ones that we both like. Definate keeper and easy to tweak and play around with.

Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2007
I am absolutely horrible at making biscuits. But these turned out great. I only kneaded about a dozen times and I didn't roll it out, I patted it down instead. I had to cook them an extra 5 minutes, but the were crunchy on the outside and moist and layered inside.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2007
I had a very dear Grandmother who made bread for a living. It was always a treat to get a loaf for ourselves because they were always sold to others. She has since passed away. This bread reminds my so much of her bread. It is moist and sweet and a great dense texture. I used half milk and half water. I also made the dough in my bread machine and transfered to my bread pan after the final knead. It was so easy and tasty that I hope to make this a family favorite just like my Grandma's bread.

Cherry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
I only write reviews on dishes I think are 5 star or better and this is one of them. I made this for myself for my birthday "cake". In order to fill the 9x13, I did a recipe and a half, except I left the butter at a half a cup. I know alot of people complained that there was too much butter, but I loved it. I am not on a diet and I love butter so I had no problems with it. Thanks for the recipe, I have been trying to find one like it for quite some time.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
Excellent flavor and texture. I did the water bath and not one crack. I did not have a springform pan, so bought a graham crust from the store. If you do buy a store bought pie crust, half the recipe or buy 2 crusts.

Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
I made this recipe as directed and it didn't turnout as well as I had hoped. I didn't want to give up on this recipe, so I made it again and tweaked the recipe using brown sugar and light corn syrup. This made a big difference and is the pecan pie I was looking for. I won't go back to my old recipe again.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2006
LOVED IT! This is great. I was tired of the same old soups, and this one got me out of my rut. It was spicey with being hot. It was chunky and very filling. And you were right about Bill Echols Taco Seasoning, it was perfect for this recipe.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2006
Great recipe!! I only had 1 chicken and no time for a long marinade. I let it set for only 3 hours and it was still tasty. The meat was seasoned throughout and very moist. My husband had to tell me again today how good the chicken was last night. I made sure to make a triple batch of spice mix to have some quickly on hand. I did cut down on the cayenne pepper because we don't like heat, but that is just personal preference. Thanks

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2006
This is the only meatloaf my husband will ask for. Even my 5yr old loves it. The only things I did different was I used bread crumbs instead of the oats, addes some chopped onion and cooked it in a muffin pan. The glaze is sweet, but very tasty.

Honey Mustard Dressing II

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2005
I had to write as soon as I tried this dressing. It is absolutely the best honey mustard dressing recipe there is. I made this dressing, along with a recipe for croutons from allrecipes and it was the best salad I have ever had. From now on, only homemade honey mustard and croutons for my salad. Thanks
