Barley Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2011
I LOVE this recipe. I was on allrecipes, looking for a way to add barley into my diet and this one looked promising. It's really tasty and, when i reheat it for lunch the next day, I throw in a steamer (those bags of mixed veggies you can buy), and it's really colorful and even healthier than it started out! I do use chicken broth instead of veggie broth, but that's because it's what i keep on hand. Great recipe!

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
I didn't expect to love this recipe but I was pleasantly surprised! The meat falls right off the bones and is so full flavored, it's very tasty. I'm trying to learn to enjoy dark meat, since most non-genetically-modified chickens have smaller breast, darn it all! and this recipe has helped me with that task. I've got the crock pot churning away in the kitchen on this one right now. Love it!

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

I love love love this recipe! super easy, tastes great just as it is! I even made it for a pot luck party at work, simply because everyone doubted me when I told them that it was a TWO ingredient recipe! "But you've got to add XYZ!" Needless to say, they're all believers now. Thanks for this staple in my diet!

Quinoa Chard Pilaf

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
So, I'm a member of a CSA this year for the first time, and I'm trying to find ways to work new veggies into my diet. And I didn't like Chard the first time I tried it, and i'd never ever tried Quinoa. This recipe has become a staple, quite literally, in my diet. It's become a joke at work, because everyone wants to see what variation I've done this week! But this starting point is excellent! It's on the stove right now, chard a'wilting, getting ready to take for lunch tomorrow. I've added black beans, lima beans, kale, tomatoes, and i usu omit the mushrooms because they're not a favorite of mine. But it is hard to beat the way it's written. Thank you for this recipe. I don't remember what i used to have for lunch before i found it!!

One-Pot Pasta with Tomatoes, White Beans and Pesto

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
I have now made this recipe several times, and it is mighty good! The first time, i followed the recipe and it was yummy, but it definitely needed more stuff in it. Now, i double the fresh tomatoes and the cannelini beans and it's perfect! thanks so much!
