Mayonnaise Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2005
I came home late tonight to a starving family. I pulled out some soup and whipped up these biscuits. In 15 minutes, dinner was on the table. Maybe there are some biscuit recipes that taste a very little bit better, but when you factor in ease of preparation, these biscuits are the best I've come across.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2005
I officially swear off the ready made cookie dough logs from Tollhouse and Pillsbury! This was my first time baking cookies from scratch, so I didn't have my hopes up for how these would turn out, but the family said, and I agree, if I do say so myself, that these were absolutely the best chocolate chip cookies we've ever had! Thanks for the recipe!

General Tsao's Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2005
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I have been searching high and low for a General Tso's recipe like my favorite Chinese restaurant. The husband said it was better than any he's ever had in any restaurant. Don't let the negative reviews discourage you from trying this. The taste is phenominal once you get it tailored to your individual tastes. Like everyone else, I cut the cornstarch back in subsequent attempts, and for my taste 2 tbsp is about right. Actually, I was still quite happy with the first batch. I simply thinned the sauce with some pineapple juice. I guess if you don't care for the consistency and you don't want to make it any sweeter, you could thin it out with some chicken broth. I made a few other tweaks like cutting the dried chiles back to six, adding some curry powder, skipping the MSG, substituting red wine vinegar and brown sugar, etc. My only complaint would be the mess, and yet I still find myself making it once every week or two. I'd much rather wash a sink full of dishes than hop in the car, drive 45 miles, then shell out big bucks for a meal I could make better at home.
