Cream of Fresh Asparagus Soup II

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2014
I make this frequently in the spring when asparagus is cheap, it is wonderful, beautiful presentation, and it is probably my favorite way to serve asparagus...

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2013
This is my new Christmas Day main dish! I doubled it to serve 8 of us, and did add the cream of chicken soup/sour cream sauce, and baked it for an hour ( while I waited for the guests to all arrive...) With the sauce it was not dry at all, and really tender. Everyone loved it. With the sauce I dont think you could really over cook it, so I think it would hold really well. I served the sauce over rice and wanted to lick my plate!

Bacon Ranch Pea Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2013
Very easy- bringing it to a pot luck or picnic I skip the step where you boil the peas... just mix everything except the bacon, and let it thaw and give it a good mix or two when it is time to serve it. Add the bacon and it is ready to go. keeps nice and cold this way and easy to make ahead.

Horchata Made Easy

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2013
This was good. I thought when first made it was too thin and watery tasting. Much better the next day. Just be careful you do not dilute it too much if you serve it with ice cubes.

Curry Stand Chicken Tikka Masala Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2013
i have made this a number of times and my son always commented it was too 'soupy' ... this time I added some parboiled cauliflower and peas and it was perfect. I will try some cubed potatoes as some reviewers have suggested. But oh my this is good!

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2013
Eating gluten free, and found this recipe to help my chocolate cravings! Wonderful. Not too sweet, stays moist a long time. More like a brownie. Very good.

Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2013
Let this marinade a long time ( maybe 5-6 hours) and it turned out really good. I did use less oil and soy sauce. Will make it again..

Indonesian Satay

Reviewed: May 31, 2013
Really liked this. Made it just as written. I liked the sauce, my kids ate it without and thought the chicken with the marinade was excellent 'as is' even without the sauce. Marinated it about 5 hours, and it was very tender. Will make this one again.

Individual Egg Tarts

Reviewed: May 12, 2013
This was very good. Made it for a Mothers Day Brunch and everyone liked it. I used cheddar cheese (since that is what I had ) and put the cheese onto the crust before adding the egg, so it mixed in a bit more. I had a little problem with the amounts ( since I doubled the recipe) but it was easy to add an additional egg and milk so there was enough filling. I will make this again.

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2013
This was excellent! I did flour the chicken before dipping it in egg and it makes the crumbs adhere better. And I melted the butter and poured it over the chicken rather than putting pieces of butter around the chicken so it was more evenly covered. But other wise make it just as the recipe instructs and it is wonderful!

Green Onion Wraps

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2013
I make this same recipe with ham slices, but find the onion is too strong for me. So I chop in very fine and mix with the cream cheese and spread it that way... easier to eat as well...

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
I was out of white vinegar, so subbed rice wine vinegar ( from the oriental food section ) and it was excellent! Added some candied almonds as well.

Buttermilk Coleslaw

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2013
This was really good. I liked the addition of the celery seed. I did think it was a bit sweet tho... next time I will decrease the sugar a bit. But it was excellent and very easy. I did not have buttermilk but did the 'vinegar and milk" substitution and it was great.

Original Irish Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2013
Made this to give as Christmas gifts one year and everyone loved it. The only change I made was to half the whiskey- and it was plenty! I would taste it before adding the full amount. MUCH cheaper than the store bought.

used vanilla soy milk, so skipped the additional vanilla. Used a frozen banana as well as the frozen strawberries. Great breakfast!

WHile I dont usually care for recipes made with soup, this one was great. Very tender chicken, great flavor. I suspect it would be great in a crock pot as well...

Finnish Summer Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
This was good...better the next day...I cooked the beans and carrots with the potatoes...if I would have had yhe potatoes cooked before adding the rest, I feel they would have been mush before the rest cooked thru.

Oatmeal and Wheat Flour Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2012
Not sure what I did differently besides using 2% milk instead of soy, but theses did not hold together for me at all, the outside was done long before they were cooked inside. Finally resorted to putting a lid over them to get the insides cooked before the outside burned. Good flavor tho, and my husband and son thought they were great, albeit ugly...
