Almost No Fat Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2003
Now, I credit this to my own fault as I should have read the reviews before making. I liked it, but mine did turn out rubbery from stirring too much, but I will not give up on it because it did have great flavor not to mention I added extra cinnamon. I will take the other reviewers suggestions by adding the vanilla and salt. I will keeep this on hand because it is so low in fat, next time I will remember to be sure to take care when preparing, as I said, it does have great flavor.

Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2003
Wonderful, Wonderful!!!! This was a great recipe! I have never made this type of dish before and it turned out great! I used a London broil as my meat; it was a very nice cut I might add! I did not use fresh parsley, all I had on had was dried, but it didn't matter, it was still great! I have put this in my personal cookbook! I just want to add to anyone who wants to try this, please remember this and make it a rule of thumb, my mother always told me, never cook with a wine that you wouldn't drink, because when the alcohol cooks off, all you have left is the flavor, so please, make sure you use a good wine. I recommend CK Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a great wine and reasonably priced.

Award Winning Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2002
This should have won first place! The overall flavor of this chili is outstanding!!! My husband who is a heat freak, likes a spicer chili but REALLY enjoyed the favor of this chili. I used my slow cooker for this and it turned out fantastic! Even without cilantro this is so very colorful. The only thing I did different was added celery seed rather then the celery. After it was all together I realized I neglected to add the acctual celery, so I added the seed, which I like better since it was already chunky enough with the other veggies. Oh, and I added northern white beans since I hate kidney beans.

Biscotti Toscani

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2002
This turned out very well! I admit for some reson mking biscotti was a bit intimidating, but all in all it was quite easy to make. The ingredients were basic. I didn't use oragne zest only becasue I didn't have an orage on hand, but it didn't need it anyhow. I will try it next time, but it still tastes fine without it. These were very tasty amd I will make hem again!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2002
Since there are so many reviews to this recipie, I do not know if this was mentioned. When I made mine and instead of the 4 quart casserole pan, I used two 9 inch cake pans. I am only cooking for two so I froze the other. This was so very good! My husband, a tex/mex food fan, loved it (he added his favorite hot sauce to it since he loves extra extra heat)! No alterations need to be added to this. The ingreidents weren't hard to find and very inexpensive. Preparation was so easy! I served it with tortilla chips, sour cream and salsa. It's a good weekend or Friday night dish.

Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2002
These were great! I read the reviews and added some garlic salt to mine and they came out fantasic! My husband loves these, he used to get them at a cajun resturant, but not anymore, they come from my kitchen now! We serve them with beef or onion gravy, but they are fantasic on their own. My only gripe is the sweet potato is so hard to cut, but well worth the work out wehn you first taste the outcome!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2002
This was good! I made it for my dinner guests and they liked it. I doubled the recipe and used cream of mushroom soup and only one packet of italian seasoning due to the reviews. I also added fresh mushrooms. The wine gave it great flavor. Oh and just to add...my dog liked it!

Cranberry Pork Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2002
Okay, I have two reviews...kind of...one, before I prepared this I gave it to my mother who a)cooked it in the oven w/ foil, b)Made it with whole cranberries and c)used 1/4 cup of sugar. She had 6 guests over and they all loved it and begged for the recipe! I made it today in my slow cooker with jellied and a little over a fourth of sugar and it was tender and amazing! I cooked it on low for 5 and a half hours and it was done(meat thermometer registered at 170). I was incredible and very man friendly! So two points here, if you don't have a slow cooker it is still great in the oven and if you don't have jellied, whole will suffice! Oh and also, to skim fat a paper towel does the trick!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2002
Oh this was soooo good, I used an irregular sholder cut of london broil and added carrots and potatos.....MMMMMMMMM!!!! I loved every last bit that I sopped up with my buttered bread! I was very easy and you can just throw it on all day and forget about it...or until the aroma drives you crazy! I work nights so I keep my family fed with the crock pot. It's wonderful!

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2002
I followed this recipe to the tee, they weren't salty and my onions were not carmalized it was all so watery. It didn't taste bad, but it didn't taste good. I would give it a three and a half if I could, because it wasn't bad, but I was expecting so much more. Maybe it was just me, I encourge anyone to try it, it appears it was only me...

Zesty Porcupine Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2002
"Nummy Nummy!" Said my 18 month old after eating this treat! It came out great, I added garlic powder. Also I had a half of green, red and yellow pepper left over from a pasta salad I made so I tossed them in and they added great flavor and color! But nothing really needs to be changed. So easy to make! My mother used to make this when I was a child, but I don't remeber it being nearly as good. A real kid pleaser!

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2001
I made these for my husband to bring to work and he was lucky he had any to bring! They are sotasty, they seem intimidating to make, but are easy and turn out great...and I can't bake to save my life! I plan to make these for every party I go to from now on! MMMMMMMMM! Oh yeah, make sure to have pleanty of milk on hand, they go great together. I omitted the nuts and they still turned out good! Theonly suggestion I'd make is watch the size of your cookie to see how they turn out. Different sizes turn out the same, lol! Once you get the hang of it you'll be fine. I used Rolos, will try Risens next time! I love those!
