Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2012
We loved this! As per other reviews, I skipped the beef broth and instead added 1 packet of gravy mix combined with 1 c. water. This made the sauce nice and thick & there was enough left in the pan to pour over each serving like a gravy. I also skipped the mashed carrot layer and instead put on about a 2 cup layer of frozen peas and carrots. You could use any frozen vegetable combination that your family loves. I also added 2 T. Worchestershire (sp?) sauce to the the browned hamburger at the same time as the ketcup and gravy mix and it really added a nice flavor to the meat...it wasn't just 'plain hamburger', as my husband said. We took this to an Olympics Opening Ceremony viewing party as our contribution to the London Food theme & everyone loved it!! Husband even told me to put this one 'in the rotation'...a major compliment! :)

Irish Champ

My husband loved this on St. Patty's day. I prefer to have the onion chopped very small - not just 'thinly sliced'. Very good!

Warm Flourless Chocolate Cake with Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
I made this exactly as the recipe is written. It was very moist and dense and wonderful! LOVED the caramel sauce and may just make that by itself for ice cream too. Yum!

Perfect Flourless Orange Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
This turns out somewhat dense like a coffee cake, but is really delicious. If you're trying to make this completely gluten free, you should NOT flour the cake pan if you are using white or wheat flour. Instead I used powdered sugar & it worked alright. May use rice flour next time.

Maple Syrup Casserole Made in Heaven

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2007
This had the consistency of a bread pudding...which I'm not a fan of. However, I had several people comment that they really liked it and one that wanted the recipe. SO, I guess it's a hit for some people, just not me.

Winter Energy Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2006
Although these are a very dense cookie, they are very good. I cut back on the nuts a bit to my taste, but followed the rest of the recipe as is. They are a very filling cookie & have just the perfect amount of sweetness with the chocolate chips.

Baby BLT

Reviewed: May 7, 2006
I made these as an appetizer with our Easter lunch & they were wonderful!! I'm a HUGE bacon lover & they are just the perfect blend to actually taste like a BLT! Also, I had several people that hate tomatoes tell me they were really good! Yum!

Cheesy Breads

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2006
These are perfect for a party where people need to be able to move around with their plates. They are easy to hold, easy to eat & not very messy. I love the flavor of the ranch and have someone request the recipe everytime I make them.
