Hasty Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
A bit strong on the cocoa flavor - we added more sugar and some butter at the end and it was much better. An excellent quick recipe when you've got that chocolate craving!

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
I have an Alaskan starter over 100 years old and this is the recipe that finally does it justice! All other loaves have come out way too sour or just failed to satisfy in some way. This is a keeper for my starter now. Next time I'll try leaving out the commercial yeast and seeing how well it rises on it's own. :)

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
Every summer I picked from bushes and gobbled up tons of what I thought were blackberries at our summer home. I had a passions for my blackberries and since my parents never bought them at the store it wasn't until I was married and mentioned my love to my husband that I realized that that what I had actually been gorging on were black raspberries! When I realized my error I, embarrassed, mentioned it to my husband but bless him, he continues to bring home these big bland (in my opinion) berries that I care not for! In desperation, (for I hate wasting anything) I found this recipe and not only did it make the berries taste passable, but I went back for seconds! This recipe will be used quite frequently as I'm sure my helpful husband will continue to lovingly bring home more of my 'favorite' berries! LOL

Peanut Butter Balls VIII

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
This is a good recipe, but I wasn't crazy about the strong taste of the dry milk. I made it a 2nd time with about 1/2 less dry milk and it was much better. The balls were a bit stickier, but putting them in the fridge for awhile helped.

Fantastic Lemon Butter Fillet

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
This is exactly what I was looking for! Easily adjustable, and the seasonings were perfect. I sprinkled a little bit of cajun seasoning on top along with the lemon pepper and it hit the spot. Our guests really liked this. Will definately make again!

Curried Turkey Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
Excellent basic recipe. I love curry, so this hit the spot. I didn't have grapes, so I soaked raisins and used them. Used almonds in place of peanuts. Threw in some chopped apple, didn't have celery, so I used some celery seed. Next time I'm going to put add some pineapple and add some rice and make it burrito style!

Holiday Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
This was very addictive! I put the white layer down first, and then while it was still warm, spread a dark layer on top. It sticks better if you don't chill the white layer first. Then I added the bigger bits of candy cane that didn't get turned to powder on top of the dark layer. I really like the look of it that way better. Also consider using 'almond bark' in place of the white chocolate. Cheaper and less fattening!

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
Excellent muffins! My child, who doesn't like banana bread, will eat these. Topped with some leftover chocolate frosting they were even better!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2008
This recipe was only okay in my opinion. My husband really liked it though, which is surprising because he never gives me more than a shrug and a grunt if something I make is passable. This time he actually opened his mouth and told me it was good! I thought it either had too much flour or not enough salt. After reading the reviews, I may try this again with less flour. As it stands, this recipe is only 3 stars, in my opinion.

Basil Pesto Bread Rounds

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
Well, even though I read the reviews, I wasn't sure about this recipe, until I popped the finished product in my mouth. Can we say, "DIED AND WENT TO HEAVEN!!" My husband wanted me to make more so he could take some to work for his co-workers! We'll definitely be doing this one again. ***** 4/10 - Came back to this recipes again for a Bunco party and on a whim set out some sun-dried tomatoes to put on top. They are even better this way!!! I put the leftover tomatoes on a pizza I made and it was fabuous!

Light Oat Bread

Reviewed: May 11, 2007
Excellent bread. I was looking for a great sandwich bread and I found it! I used some flour that I had that had some wheat flour mixed in, and it came out perfectly. The rise and color were beautiful! (A year later) Just wanted to add that this is my most frequently baked loaf in my house. I like adding in wheat flour and flax seed to make it healthier. I also turn this recipe into dinner rolls much of the time. The rolls are baked at 350 for about 30-35 minutes.

Cheese Soup with Broccoli

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2006
This was a great recipe - I did fry up some bacon and crumble it up and throw it into the soup. I sauteed the onion in the bacon grease and incorporated that into the soup. I didn't have celery, so just added a little bit of 'vegetable medly' corn, carrots, beans, peas - etc. I did throw in a little bit of celery seed, too. This was delish!

Pierogi Dough

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
This is the best dough I've worked with by far. I followed the directions to the "T" and it rolled out beautifully. Was very elastic and didn't break when I was forming the raviolis. This one s a keeper!
