Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2005
This was pretty good. The garlic and Oregano added just enough umph to make it special. The broiler in my oven didn't cook it very evenly but I am sure that just doing it the old fashion way in a pan would have worked nicely. I also used Texas Toast for the bread.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2005
Well, what can I say. It's yummy. I don't know what I was expecting. I guess something really really yummy. There just wasn't anything that made it "special". I should have known this from looking at the ingredients, but after reading all the great reviews you start to think "hmmmm...this many people can't be wrong". Like I said, it's yummy and everyone especially kids will like it. It's just not a "WOW!" recipe. I think you can make any casserole with cream soup, meat, rice or noodles, and a veggie all combined together. On a side note...I made sure to add a lot of soup so that it wouldn't turn out dry. I also added more tuna.

Seven Minute Frosting II

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2005
YUM! So much better than canned! The texture is all marshmallowy and gooey while you spread it on the cake and then turns into a light regular frosting as it dries. I had to make sure I didn't eat too much while it was in the gooey stage. Yummy yum!

Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2005
THIS RECIPE MADE ME SICK!...Only because I ATE ALMOST THE ENTIRE PAN MYSELF!!! This is one of those warm, comforting, delicious desserts that makes you feel oh so good when it seems like the world is against you! I used about 3/4 of a loaf of day old french bread and added raisins. You could almost drink the sauce because it is so yummy. I also cooked it for about an hour and a half to ensure it wouldn't be too mushy. Thank You Missy!

Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2005
I knew that this recipe was good even before I tasted it! When I took it out of the oven the first time to slice it, it fell apart because it was soooo tender. I just left it whole and put the sauce over all of it. I also saved sauce on the side for anyone who wanted more. This was a great brisket and I will make it again and again!

Banana Caramel Fluff

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2005
I love banana desserts and will try anything new. This dessert was easy and tasted pretty good. I think that the posters who made modifications by adding brown sugar, cinnamon, ice cream etc. did a wise thing. It just needs a little extra something. I also wonder if it could be made more attractive. Maybe you could squish the rolls into cupcake pans and then fill them with the banana mixture. All and all it tasted yummy but could be even better with just a few changes.

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2005
Hmmmm....what can I say. I went over and over the recipe to see if I did anything wrong. My pudding was dry and had bits of cooked scambled eggs in it. The sauce was really thin and greasy and seperated. I love bread pudding. Compared to another recipe that I found here, this one isn't that great. Oh well, we all have different tastes I guess.

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2005
Ya...okay. It is nice enough. If you put too much of the sauce on top, your salmon will seem a little soggy.

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: May 2, 2005
Did anyone else have a hard time cramming 3 1/2 lbs of chopped cabbage into a 9X13 pan? My pan overfloweth! By the time I was trying to get the beef broth poured in, I was laughing because there was no way it was gonna fit! Use a great big bowl for mixing and a great big pan for cooking! Other than that, it tasted pretty good. Not quite as good as cabbage rolls but pretty good none-the-less.

My Mom's Sausage & Rice Casserole

Reviewed: May 2, 2005
Sorry, no likey. It was dry and really salty. I think I might have used a little too much soup mix and salty sausages?

Sweet and Sour Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 19, 2005
O.k. I have never had luck with meatloaf, but I guess I got lucky this time! I hate mushy meatloaf so I put this in a square pan instead of a loaf pan and it turned out great. I also have a huge sweet tooth and this was perfect for me! I had no tomato sauce on hand and used tomato soup instead and it turned out excellent! My kids all had seconds. This is one you have to try!

Easy and Delicious Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2005
Easy and Delicious! You could add a million different things to this to your taste i.e. mushrooms, onions, veggies, etc. And if you don't put it over rice or pasta, it's low-carb. Yummy! Kiddo favorite!

Banana Crepes

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2005
Very good! I would make more of the banana sauce and keep the bananas cut in slices like most of the other reviewers. My kids loved these so much they thought I was magic!

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2005
These are so simple that I make them all of the time now for my family. To be quite frank, however, I think they need to be seasoned. I add salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powder. Otherwise they are pretty bland for my taste. We also double the recipe since everyone always wants more.

Messy Taco Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2005
I added canned corn and and diced tomatoes and skipped the beans only because I didn't have any on hand. I also used Ranch dressing and Fritos. We took it to a picnic on a hot day. The only thing I would make sure of is that this salad stays pretty cold. Otherwise the lettuce will wilt. This was pretty good but messy. I bet it would taste good with Catalina or French dressing too. Mix the dressing in at the very last minute so the chips and lettuce are nice and crisp.

Aunt Betty's Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
Instead of getting thirds, my sister-in-law and I found ourselves just eating it straight from the pan. This is great banana pudding. It's rich, sweet, and just...well...bananaee. My bananas didn't go black for a few hours, maybe because I used pretty un-ripe bananas. I think a few mini marshmallows added in would make it even more scrumptious. (If you are a serious dessert and sugar freak like me). Well, that said... I need to go do about 1000 sit-ups.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2005
This was very good but... I should have listened to the other reviewers about adding some salt and seasoning to the juice. It was a little bland. Also, duh, why didn't I melt some provolone or mozzerella when I toasted the buns in the oven??? That would have been awesome. Everyone thought it was pretty decent though. Even my picky four year old. Maybe she just liked dipping the sandwich and not getting in trouble for it.
