Banana Nut Bread Baked in a Jar

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
Maybe I am being too critical.. I thought the bread left a bitter aftertaste. I will use the extreme banana bread recipe on this site inside the jars next time. I am going to have my spouse test it in the morning.. if he thinks it tastes good... i will give them away. If he agrees with me, I will throw it all away. I will not use this recipe next time. I will use the canning method with another recipe next time. plus, they only rose 2/3 of the way up.

A family favorite. A big hit for New Years dinner party. Plus, requests have been made for me to make it at following BBQ events. I have made it twice and have been asked to make it a lot more.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2007
I made it exactly as recipe states. I used Hunts original bbq sauce, cooked it for 2 hours, shredded it, put in back in the crockpot for another 45 min. It turned out pretty good. It is very easy. I can't wait to taste it on top of some pre-packaged salad mix.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
I do not like beef. I haven't eaten it it 6 years. However, I decided today to make this recipe. We all loved it. The meat is very tender... sort of falls apart in your mouth. Plus, the flavor is yummy. disappeared quickly. I used chicken buillons since that is all I had. Splenda for the sugar. Everything else I followed exact from the recipe. A keeper!

Chicken Wing Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2006
I served it at a party. The whole crockpot amount finished. I received lots of compliments on the dish, and 1 person asked for the recipe. I put everything into the crock pot to cook, I used a rotessire chicken bought from walmart already cooked and chopped it into small pieces. I added a lot more chicken. I would use less creamcheese next time and try putting in some sourcream to substitute. I used a lot more hot sauce than called for. It is a unique idea, and other people seemed to like it. I personally thought it was okay. I would not make it again for my family. However, if there is a party.. I might just make it again.

I whole wheat spagetti noodles. I didn't have honey so i used splenda. I didn't have chili paste so I used a tsp of chili powder. I didn't have fresh ginger so I used ground ginger in a smaller amount. It came out delicious! My spouse and 6 year old daughter loved it.

Baked Pineapple Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2006
Excellent recipe. I made it for a potluck and received lots of compliments. it is very easy and tastes great. I used approx. 6 oz. smart balance butter, 3/4 cup splenda, 10 slices bread, 2 20 oz cans crushed dole pineapple, 1 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp cinnamon. I baked it for about 1 1/2 hrs. I put some sliced pineapple on top. The batter was extremely sweet. Once it was baked, it was a lot better. Very easy, very inexpensive to make, very good. I recieved many compliments and 1 request for the recipe. highly recommended.

Southwest Chicken

Reviewed: May 31, 2006
I made it like the recipe explains. It is very easy and quick. The taste is good. At the end of cooking, I cut the chicken into bite-size pieces. Initially, I forgot to add the cheese, and the flavor was just okay. Then I remembered to add the cheese and that made all the difference. The cheese is a necessary addition. My 6 year old enjoyed it... she really liked the black beans. Next time, I will periodically check to see if the chicken is done, because I think 30 minutes may have been to long since the chicken turned out a little rubbery. I will make this easy dish again. My sister liked it and asked for the recipe also.

Ground Beef Curly Noodle

Reviewed: May 28, 2006
This is wonderful. I have made it two times, and my family really gobbles it up. The first time I made it with beef flavored oriental noodles, and it came out good. I had seasoned the ground beef while cooking, and it was too seasoned when done. I used two pkgs of noodles and ended up cooking another bag afterwards to add to the pan. The second time, I made it with the oriental flavored noodles, and I did not season the ground beef while cooking. I used three pkgs oriental noodles crushed. My husband said it was better. Therefore, next time, I will not season the ground beef while cooking, and I will use 3 pkgs noodles. I will use 2 cans diced tomatoes, and 1 can corn. This will be a commonly found dish at my home.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: May 28, 2006
It was okay. It is quite a bit of work and it is nothing x-tra good. I will not make this again. The recipe turned out fine, but the taste is not the best we've had. My family did not eat the left overs.

Easy Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2006
No flavor. I had to add a variety of seasoning at the end to add some taste to it. I was so looking forward to it. I used some wild basa talapia filets. It took a lot longer to cook than what the recipe said. such a tasteful fish... but such a bland recipe. oh well. Learning.... and I'll keep on trying other recipes.

Spinach and Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2006
I will not make this dish again. The flavor was okay. Nothing special. My husband and daughter did not eat any of it. I ended up throwing the food in the trash. My husband thought it had to much garlic. I thought it was a bit too unhealthy.

Chicken Parmigiana

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2006
I really enjoyed the flavor. The chicken was very moist. I used no sugar added spagetti sauce. I had left overs the next day and it tasted just as good. I did add seasoning to the bread crumbs. My husband doesn't like too much spagetti sauce... therefore, he wasn't too thrilled with the dish since it had a lot of sauce. I would recommend this recipe.
