Jellied Shrimp Salad

Reviewed: May 25, 2012
This recipe is from the 70's. It's very good, makes a lot, keeps well and is really good with Ritz crackers.

Smoked Salmon Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2012
This recipe is great as is but I combined it with another and loved the results. I thinned out the cream cheese with 1/2 cup heavy cream, added 2 tsp. lemon juice, 1 clove minced garlic, a little horseradish sauce (to taste), 1 Tbls. drained capers and more dill. I piped it onto cocktail rye bread and sliced cucumber rounds and garnished them with sprigs of fresh dill. They were devoured instantly and guests were begging for the recipe. One guest mother even called me the next day for the recipe because he told her how good it was. Thank you for sharing this delight!

After trying this recipe, I won't be buying pre-made breakfast sausage anymore. Wonderful, I shared it with all my adult children who also love to cook. Thank you for sharing this recipe, Lee.

Texas Slaw

Tried something new for tailgating, followed the recipe exactly as written and nobody really cared for it. Oh well, everyone has different tastes - you win some and lose some. Still, thanks for the recipe.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
The first time I made this I followed the recipe exactly and we enjoyed it. The second time I sauteed sliced fresh mushrooms with the onions and garlic and added fresh baby spinach the last few minutes, just enough time to slightly wilt. Garnished with fresh basil and fresh parm. Served with a salad and garlic bread sticks - restaurant quality. Thank you for sharing this versatile recipe with us!

Ultimate Party Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
I'm giving this recipe 3 stars because this is the base for a 5 star recipe that I received from a friend. I know this is an odd combination but these meatballs (homemade or frozen) disappear quickly. Add 1 pkg. of onion soup and 1 can of drained and rinsed sauerkraut to the cranberry and chili sauce. Heat in a slowcooker for 3-4 hours on low. A Holiday must in our house.

Chicken Enchiladas with Creamy Green Chile Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
At first I found this a little bland, even with add-ins (jalapenos, garlic, cumin) and thought it was just okay. However, the next day I took two 'chiladas for lunch and was sorry I didn't bring more. The flavors came together perfectly and it was fantastic! Will definately make this again but let it sit in the refrig. overnight or at least several hours for the flavors to meld. Makes a huge difference!

Tin Roof Sundae Pie

This is a family favorite. The recipe I have from years ago called "Drumstick Pie" calls for Cocoa Krispies cereal. It tastes just like a drumstick, one of my DH's favorite ice cream treat.

After reading other reviews, I cut back on the oregano, omitted the salt and spread the mixture on a crusty peasant bread - it was the best! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Beer Cheese Dip II

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
I've been making this for years but I add 1 pkg. ranch dressing mix and 3 chopped scallions/green onions. It's best if it stands overnight and is really good with big sourdough pretzels.

Sooo good! Used half brown rice and half converted rice, chicken bouillon instead of broth and frozen corn. That's what I had on hand. My family, including the small grandchildren loved it. A definate keeper - thanks for sharing this recipe!
