Lighter Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2012
Used 1/4 C butter instead of 1/2 like one reviewer did and it came out well - not as creamy as typical fettuccine, but I'm sure with the full 1/2 C it would be fine. The 1/4 C is still delicious and worth the loss in creaminess for the loss in calories. :) Thanks for the recipe!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2012
Doubled the exact recipe minus the water chestnuts an chile sauce as I'm not a huge fan. Also used a little powdered ginger rather than minced pickled ginger because it was what I had on hand. Made it for a party and it was a hit! In fact, I'm making it again today for another party we're going to, per their request. Definitely adding to my family dinner repertoire as it's so easy and delicious!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
I tried making this with ground beef, but had to use so much of it (almost the whole batch for just 1/2 lb of meat) that it's really not worth it. I like that you can control how much salt goes in it, but wish it had more flavor. Sorry!

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
i don't know how to make many mexican dishes other than the typical tacos & enchiladas, so this was a nice alternative in the same genre.

Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
as a japanese-american who grew up eating home-cooked asian food, this is just okay. the sauce is heavy on the soy sauce and tastes like it. would probably be better with a little more flavor other than just soy sauce.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
living in/near chicago my whole life, i know a good italian beef ... and this was pretty good!! the only slightly weird thing is that the beef is shredded so the texture is different. i don't know what else you would do though (at home) unless you have a deli slicer. great recipe!

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
I followed others' suggestions and put a layer of cheese on the crust before pouring the veggies on top. I also used a mix of shredded cheddar and shredded italian - i only had some of both. I had just run out of fresh garlic, so I had to use garlic powder, but it still tasted great! I also used only 1 cup of milk instead of 1 1/2 since some said it was a little runny. I added some diced ham as well. This was my first quiche (and pie in general) and I was very happy with the results! Will definitely be making it again!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
this was my first time using my (new) slow cooker AND my first time making pot roast so i was a little nervous. it turned out ok - i did a 2.5 lb roast for 5 hrs on low and the ends were a little tough so i think i'll cut down on the time next time because the middle was nice and tender. the flavor was good but not GREAT. i also substituted beef broth for the water and added some baby carrots. served with mashed potatoes on the side. there was extra gravy but personally, i'd rather have too much than too little and it wasn't such an overflowing abundance of gravy that i didn't know what to do with it.

Chili Dog Casserole I

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2005
i made this for my husband and i using 4 hot dogs and 3 hot dog buns in an 8X8 casserole dish ... no mustard because i didn't have any, but i followed the rest of the recipe as it says, using hormel chili with beans. it came out quite well. tastes like a chili dog but with toasted buns which is yummy. i would give it 4 stars for taste but it gets an extra star because it's SO easy and SO quick to make!

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2005
very taste dish. i did what others suggested and used real garlic and onion instead of the powders. i added chicken broth and flour for gravy as suggested by someone as well. turned out very well. i chopped zucchini, red pepper and asparagus and steamed them to serve with the chicken. i think next time i'll even make a little white rice to go along with the meal.

Biggest Bestest Burger

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2005
Very tasty! I didn't even have to use any garnishings (ketchup mustard etc) because the taste was so good. My husband (a bigger ketchup fan) used ketchup and loved it as well. Next time though I think I'll use less meat since both of the burgers were pretty massive and very filling (we were full without eating anything else!). Easy and quick to make as well.

Peppered Bacon and Tomato Linguine

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2005
i made this for my husband and i - we loved it!! I made it for 2 servings, using 1/2 package of linguine and 1/4 lb of bacon, but kept the rest of the recipe the same because it didn't seem like i had enough sauce otherwise. i'll definitely make this again! thanks!!
